THE GARNER FAMILY consists of Horace Garner, his wife Peggy Garner, and their son Scott Garner. With a rich heritage of music & ministry spanning over 6 decades, the Garner Family consider it an honor to sing and play for the Glory of God.
Horace's father (Winfred Garner) was a Baptist Preacher and radio evangelist for over 50 years, including Pastoring at least 7 churches.
Peggy's father (Cecil Tompkins) was a Full-Gospel Preacher, Evangelist, and Singer. He preached all over the United States as well as in 65 countries such as South Korea, Mexico, Guatemala, India, Cuba, Ireland, Russia, Haiti, Israel, Jordan, many countries in Africa, and much more.
Cecil, Peggy, & Horace formed a trio in the late 70's and recorded two records in Nashville in the early 80's which can now be purchased as a double CD - Cecil Tompkins & The Garner Family.
Horace and Peggy have both sung in many different trios and quartets over the years, but count it a special joy to travel and sing as a family trio with their oldest son Scott. Together they have recorded 3 projects: Welcome In, Reborn, and the latest release Sounds Like Home.
Scott and his wife Christy have 4 children: Elizabeth, Laura, Anna Grace, and their One-year old son Will. Christy Home-schools the three girls, which makes it possible for everyone to travel together, and for the three “Garner Girls” to sing in concert with the family. The Garner Girls have also recorded a song on the last two Garner Family cds, and hope to record their own full-length cd soon.
The Garner Family is at home singing in Sunday services and in a Saturday night concert setting as well. Having sung on stage with such groups as The Crabb Family, Brian Free & Assurance, The Inspirations, and countless others over the last 6 years, the Garner Family stand ready to take their message wherever the Lord opens the door.

Horace Garner has been singing since he was less than 10 years of age, beginning on his father, the late Rev. Winfred Garner, radio broadcast. Horace has sung Southern Gospel music his entire life in Quartets, Trio's and mixed groups. He sang in groups such as the New Sons of Song, the Journeymen Quartet, Cecil & The Garners and different incarnations of the Garners over the years. Horace has also been the minister of music at several different churches over the last three decades and loves hymns, as well as Praise & Worship music. He has a wonderful tenor & lead voice and a dynamic delivery that shows his passion for the music he sings. Horace also plays piano, bass, and guitar.

Peggy Garner is an accomplished piano player and singer. At age 10, she began playing the piano at the church where her father, the late Rev. Cecil S. Tompkins, was Pastor. It wasn't until she married Horace that she began to sing, but her God given talent for harmony became apparent quickly. She has been in many groups over the years with Horace and has helped lead worship as co-minister of music with him in different churches over the last three decades.

Scott is the oldest son of Horace & Peggy Garner. He began singing as soon as he could talk and could sing 21 songs before the age of three. His mom made sure he sang as often as possible in church and on radio broadcasts as a child. At the age of nine Scott taught himself to play drums by playing along with Cecil & the Garners records. He was on the road with them as their drummer by age 10 and has been ever since. It's only been in the last 10 years that Scott began to sing again and he considers it an honor to be on stage singing with his parents. Scott is also a songwriter (registered with BMI), and wrote the title cut of their last project REBORN, which made the Singing News Top 40 in 2006. He also wrote the title cut of their first project WELCOME IN.
