The Garrison is a blend of musicians from central Ohio. Gary, Fred (currently playing in Blatant Finger) and Scott (formerly of The Pop Quiz / The Cutters) formed the core of the band in 2007 under the name Radar!Radar!. The trio sorted though some songs. In early 2008 they then asked Joel (former Early Empire, currently with The Handshake) and Pete (former Gainbelt, Silo the Huskie, The Vincents and Marcy/DC) to come in and work with the band.
Once Joel and Pete helped suss out the basic 5 song demo, the band then proceeded to add new songs to the set. In May of 2008, the band booked studio time @ Candyland Studios in Cinci, Ohio. Under the guidance of Mike Montgomery (thistle, Ampline, Tiberius Records) the band went in to record their set live. The band then put basic tracks down for 4 song demo.
Out of these sessions came the four songs posted on this myspace page. A week later The Garrison played their first live show at The Ravari Room in Columbus.
The Garrison now has T-shirts and other items for sale at our shows. We are working with a 2009 release that will be down-loadable, as well as available at The Garrison shows for purchase.
haha nah not this time. it was of my own doing, which is fine. that place is a tendy fuck hangout. any bar that has a sign declaring itself "a punk rock bar" is pretty lame to me. So Hot Topic-ish. but anyway, ill catch you guys somewhere else im sure... Looking forward to it.
"punk rock bar and beer emporium"... haha. when did punk rock hangouts start having signs on them declaring what they were? regardless, im banned for life from there.. boohoo. ill catch you guys somewhere else though, for sure. take care...t
I just finished recording the new record. I'm currently in the process of finding a label to release it. Until then, I've uploaded 3 tracks from the album. Stop by and give 'em a listen.
OK! So Arte' rings us and asks us to play his birthday party @ the Circus, and of course we were going to do it...
Great time had, Doin Nut'n threw it down, The Luxury Pushers killed it & Sin Nombre finished up who were still standing. The Garrison did the best they could sans a bass player, as Pete has moved on. We still had a blast and played a short rather stripped down set to a rather enthusiastic crowd, we had a killer time.
We had some good response to our need for a bassmaster and may just have the position filled, which is quite exciting and releaving...
So, thanx much for being @ The Circus, we will be out & about very soon...
The coffee will soon be available to purchase, and sold online only. Keep checking this page and their main site (www.myspace.com/marleycoffee) for more info and updates.
This is a wonderful product. Organic, fair wage, and environmentally friendly. Also there is a charity aim to the company as well. So, a wonderful coffee for a great cause and a great way to remember Bob Marley, who brought so much positivity to this planet.
