Influences
Our influences used to create The Gem Theater was all the bad venues we ever attended.... this is not a dirty, smokey bar.... When you enter The Gem we hope you notice right away, this is a very clean and fresh venue and we strive to have the friendliest staff anywhere. Recently we attended a major concert at an area venue and immediately following the show were told, not asked, to get out of the area... this is after running into some friends we had not seen a in a long time... we want your visit to The Gem to be a great event and if you want to hang out a bit after the show to chat or meet the artist we are in full favor of that. Most of our artists will take a break between sets to meet and greet and sign CD's... and then hang around after the show for more meet and greet.
Although The Gem is a small venue, it was designed to utilize every square foot... and the backstage area was developed with the entertainers in mind, creating a dressing room complete with restroom facilities........as stated, we might be small, 130-150 seats, capacity is 260....but there is not a BAD seat in the house.....
Sounds Like
Sounds like the best PA system you have ever heard, pristine and clear... not that mumbo jumbo (too much bass or constant feedback) like other places that only has one good seat in the house.... the Gem is great wherever you sit or stand or mingle..... You can approach the stage from the sides and get up close to the entertainers for photo's or to learn that guitar lick.
The Gem PA offers 3-way EV speakers powered by QSC amplifiers, flying from above and JBL sub-woofers, powered by Crown.
All this is mixed through a fine 32 channel, Midas, Venice mixing console located in the Front of House.
Our floor monitors are Yamaha and are powered by QSC and/or Crown.
We also offer multi-track recording and have captured some great performances.. we are in the process of switching our recording capabilities
to computer based Pro-Tools.
The Gem also sports a fine dance floor right in front of the stage, but low enough that the first row can see the entertainment action..... come out and enjoy a show soon.
This facility offers a fantastic setting to enjoy your favorite music artists and we will be bringing in National Blues acts once a month. The summer of 2008 has been assigned to complete some further improvements we want to make at The Gem, but look for our line-up coming soon to start off in September.
THE GEM IS ALSO AVAILABLE FOR PRIVATE PARTIES AND BUSINESS CONVENTIONS AND WE CAN TAKE CARE OF CATERING FOR YOUR NEXT BIG FUNCTION. CALL: 989.621.5948 FOR DETAILS......
