The recently refurbished Georgian Theatre is tucked away in a courtyard in Stockton's Cultural Quarter, just off the riverside. The newly decorated interior maintains the historical character of the building whilst providing a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for enjoying some of the best live music in Teesside.
The venue has a 200 capacity and is managed and promoted by Tees Music Alliance. TMA are a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the music scene in the Teesside area. As well as the Georgian Theatre, TMA owns the Green Dragon Recording Studios next door and are the organisers of the annual Stockton Riverside Fringe Festival.
The Georgian Theatre is the oldest surviving theatre of its era, having been first established in 1766. It fell into disrepair in the 19th century and since then had been used as a factory, storage space and a community hall. It was acquired by TMA (then known as Stockton Music & Arts Collective) in the early 1990's and opened for live performances once more.
Our venue's focus revolves around live performance and club nights are run around these performances. We host regular indie, acoustic, folk and jazz nights - see our website for more details and to buy tickets online.
This Myspace page is run by TMA and is designed to be a contact point for general enquiries and a means of helping network local bands. If you're a band looking for a gig at The Georgian then you can contact us at info@teesmusicalliance.org.uk
