
‘The Getback band’ has performed internationally for the past few years earning great reviews at venues in the UK, Sweden, Switzerland, Italy and Belgium to name a few. They star regularly at International Beatle week in Liverpool, including the famous Cavern Club and at the Mathew Street festival.
Dougie ‘Macca’ Orr has performed internationally since reaching the final of the UKs premier talent show – ‘Stars in your Eyes’. The Beatles have been a major influence on him since early childhood. A talented musician in his own right, he plays Base and rhythm guitar as well as a bit of keyboard. Anyone who has seen Dougie perform with tell you that as well as an incredible singer he is an amazing showman on stage!
Fox Amoore is a renowned composer who is generally recognised as the foremost keyboard player of his generation. He developed his progressive keyboard writing skills at an early age and has been plying professionally since the age of just 14!
He joined The GetBack Band in August 2005 and 3 weeks later was playing with them on their successful International Beatle week tour in Liverpool! This included his first performance at The Cavern Club, playing there on his 21st birthday!
Dave Bernthal on lead guitar started playing the guitar professionally with Scottish band "Baby Bartok" in 1994. After lots of tours, recording and a TV spot, the band split. He then formed a band called "Singleskin" in 1998 who went on to secure a record contract releasing 2 singles and an album.
An accomplished composer and performer, Dave has been a huge Beatles fan as long as he can remember! He didn’t have to be asked twice about joining the band. His experience and enthusiasm are evident for all to see.
Kenny MacLean is a gifted Bassist, Composer, Free Improviser and Philosopher with an eclectic musical and academic history. His first experiences with music came at a very young age when he would look through his parent’s record collection and choose albums based solely on the vibrancy of the cover art. Inevitably Sgt Pepper and The White Album (It had an Apple in the Centre) became firm favourites and The Beatles music has remained hugely influential in the development of his truly individualistic Bass Guitar style since. McCartney might just snap him up for his own band someday.Watching Kenny play demonstrates his immense talent and love for the music.
Adam Bond Thomson, on drums, was born in the town of Dunfermline in central Scotland. In 2003 Adam had the pleasure of playing alongside Carl Palmer (Emerson,Lake and Palmer) at a special drum clinic hosted by Gary MacWilliams in which he opened the show.
Drumming has been an obsession of Adam’s since an early age and he had regular lessons with some of the top percussionists in Scotland; Alan Brown (Fish, Marillion) a former Berkely graduate, Ronnie Goodman (Capercallie) and Tom Gordon (BBC Radio Big Band).He has performed at places as diverse as Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall and The Famous Bein Inn.
The challenge of performing as ‘Ringo’ and ‘Abe Laborial’ was too much to resist and he has risen to the challenge!! Anyone who has seen Adam play can see the quality of this performer!! He has added a whole new dimension to The Getback Band and is just loving playing the songs of McCartney and The Beatles!
