they've been writing vast amounts of music in obscurity for the past 14 years, recording more than 1300 songs. they are now ready to share, having released 10 albums and EPs in 2008, and planning for another 10 releases in 2009... they specialize in concise, compelling, slightly cryptic and off-kilter pop songs, laced with shoegazer atmospherics and electronic noise. lyrics are literate, vivid and slightly obtuse.
the gifted children live show is an energetic mixture of pop songwriting genius, expert knob-twiddling, great harmonies and banter. approachable and self-deprecating, they become fast friends with their audiences.
for those who like direct comparisons, think Guided by Voices communing with Broken Social Scene and Red House Painters and you're on your way...

We are having a second Love Parade on Charlotte Pier this Sunday at 1:11pm...If you have a warm spot in your heart and free time to join the masses celebrating love...in any creative way you can see fit.
Thanks for the add. I very much enjoy your visits to the Tramontane Cafe and I'm glad you were part of the Utica Music and Arts Fest. I look forward to your return. :)
YOU GUYS RULE!!!! The Utica Music Fest show at The TRAM was TRIUMPHANT and filled us with such sonic goodness!!! Thanks so much for being a part of the festival and for being such good friends of ours for wow, a long time now! Good luck to Bill, we'll miss his short bald 47 year-old-ness. We were glad to have seen him with you guys one last time, seriously. We'll set a show up for early November with y'all and fill this place. Much love, GnR & all the regular VBLP/Tramsters!
great show last night. have listened to new cd about 5 times. best 5 i've spent on disc since the first old sweethearts. would have been so happy to be on that show, i started writing song called "opening for the opener's opener".
Hey there! Just wanted to say hello and that we're really looking forward to the show at the Bug Jar with you guys. I love the sampler CD I got from your manager. REALLY love the songs! Can't wait to grab an official release from y'all.
You should try to come to Pittsburgh some time. We had chatted a few years back about a show here but things didn't work out (all good) and I met you guys in 2001.
Drop a line if you'd ever be interested in a show swap or just playing a show in Pittsburgh...
Peace,
