''The Gillyflowers have a growing following, and have in Kirsten
Adamson a Dolly Partonesque country singer of poise and mighty ability.''David Pollock - The Scotsman
''With Adamson's voice and acoustic guitar lent harmonic weight by two similarly apparelled female back-up singers, several examples of wild-flower discreetly adorn the stage. Both lend a showbiz dash to an already tight-knit and well-turned-out combo. '' Neil Cooper - TheHerald
''See them while you can still see the whites of their eyes. If your heart doesn’t melt, ask your doctor for a transplant.'' Ed -17 Seconds Records
The Gillyflowers are lead by a hard-wired and intrinsic talent,Kirsten Adamson. Spending time in Nashville with dad Stuart Adamson of Big Country, Kirsten, at the tender age of 12 recognised that her particular songwriting style was 'a little more country' than a girl from Scotlands' should be. Moving around so much as a child also landed Kirsten in Orlando for a while where she developed much of her live experience and having served her 'apprenticeship,' became a guest vocalist for Big Country both live and on the album Driving To Damascus.
Now 23 and living in Edinburgh, she has just finished writing her first album and has been lucky enough to meet 5 like minded individuals, with talent and passion for her music. The band took their first 'live' trip on December 23rd 2008 supporting Aberfeldy at the Voodoo Rooms in Edinburgh and subsequent interest has landed them several other shows, including support slots with Bristol's own Babel and Legendary steel guitarist Al Perkins.
"I think my writing is a bit off the wall, gossipy and vulnerable, a bit of a risk for labels in the UK,"says Kirsten. " I've got a real serious attitude where my melodies and harmonies are concerned and it's a really exciting time for me at the moment having a band who understand the depth of the songs."

about the guitar, that's fantastic! i got a warm-hearted feeling when i first saw the photo; i just thought it was wonderful to see you with that guitar, and i don't think it could be in better hands. treat that guitar well, and it'll return the favor for a good long time! the music you're making is absolutely brilliant, and i have a feeling your dad would be very proud of you. keep doing what you're doing, because it's some of the best stuff i've heard in a really long time...hopefully one day you'll have the opportunity to play some gigs in the States (but just make sure you at least book a gig in Denver so i can come;)!

Charles Cameron, 26, web designer, Tollcross: "These kind of things are great for the music scene. Edinburgh is finally competing with Glasgow and you can see from those who were playing that there's a lot of variety and styles, as well. The Gillyflowers could really make it big, they seem totally comfortable with what they do, and they look like they're having a great time. They're all utterly gorgeous as well."
