The Gleasons spent about a year putting together their songs and sounds and in Febuary of 2004 finally ended up with the current lineup. The Gleasons music is a mixture of traditional irish, bluegrass, americana, a hint of latin, rock and american pop. The wide variety of musical tastes in the band, blend together to create one of the most original and energetic bands in the Milwaukee area. Their live shows are a must see. Although the band takes their music very seriously, they certainly do know how to have fun with it and mix it up with the crowd. Singing songs about Ireland, old time movies, love and beer drinking, The Gleasons never cease to hold a crowds attention. The songs are well written, the musicianship is great and the people in the band are just out to play music and have fun. Next time you get a chance go see them play. You'll be dancing until the end
Places we have performed include, O'connors Perfect Pint, O'donaghues Pub, The House of Guinness, Slim Mcginns, Mo's Irish Pub, The State Fair Inn, Western Days Fair, The Wisconsin State Fair, The Port Washington Maritime Festival, Milwaukee Irish Fest and benefits for The MACC Fund and The local firefighters union.
Hey just popped in...as the biggest supporter of Milwaukee Irish music that lives in Boston, I often swing by your page just to wish I could see you more often than the two times I've seen you at Irish Fest.
But I'm quite happy to hear there is a new song to listen to (at least, new since the last time I saw your page...) in Get Up. And damn, it's a great song!
Thanks for being our friend, you've got some catchy tunes.
We will be playing this Thursday, June 19th at Linneman's. The show starts at 10:00 and singer/songwriter Carrie Melton will open the show. Hope to see you there!
So, I went to a hair place and had my hair colored. I told Brian, "it's red! For St. Patrick's Day!" and he said..."I thought St Patrick's Day was green." Doh! Now I have to go back and have them fix it...
There should be some representment of us loosers (one or two of us) at your Wells Street show on 2/2. Let us know what is your LEAST favorite song request to hear yelled out by drunk patrons. We would like to show up prepared.
Thanks for playing Irish Holiday for me at Irish Fest! It was so great to see you guys again, and I'm really looking forward to your show in Boston :-)
Thank you all for a making our weekend at the state fair so enjoyable. We made it back to Michigan OK and we are already planning our next trip to see you all again. Wonderful friendly people, excellent high-energy music and enough stout to float a battleship. Unbeatable combination!
