Not so much pure in theme and content (far from it), but pure in the sense of knowing where they all come from musically. Where did all the Rock & Roll Bands go!? ...everyone is in an "indie" band now, all "sublabled" of course. "Emo", Screamo", "Emocore", "Artcore", "Christcore", "any-other-noun-you-can-think-of-core" Well, where’s the punk-rock!? ...the power-pop!? Yeah, right! How "uncool" could one possibly be!!!? Well, "The Goddamn Rights!"have thrown all that bullshit aside.They are not trying to be any part of a latest "fad". They have, instead, gone staight back the roots of the Rock and Fuckin’ Roll that they know and love. With songs about Sex, Drugs, and (obviously)Rock & Roll, and a complete disregard for the conservative norms of the Midwest, "The Goddamn Rights!" are striving toward one goal - to resuscitate the long lost "Rock & Roll" attitude. drawing from influences such as Motley Crue, Cheap Trick, Superdrag, Butch Walker, The Supersuckers, Social Distortion, and the like, this three-piece assault squad brings forth an aggressive "balls-out" display of powerful, fist-pumping Rock & Roll with the catchiest pop hooks you’ve ever heard!
