A band that came to get down....We sound like who we love, if it's clyde stubblefields funky drummer as an influence, you'll find it here, if it's creole Meters and Neville Brothers, you'll find it here, If you liked the Police growing up as my brother and i did you'll feel the influence, Paul Simon's Graceland, Sly and the family stone, Stevie wonder, Ericka Badu, Jill Scott, D'Angelo, The Roots.....All these influences.... Constantly Doin what it Does, So We Can Get Down... It's where you learn it from....Now that's a party...
The Godinez Brothers Band started when Jon and Rodney were just kids playing air guitar to the radio. They both played in the school band and pursued music after high school. Jon attended Mansfield University and both Rodney and Jonathan played with many local cover and original bands until they formed ‘Bottom’ in 1997. After his move to the philly area in’99 ,Jon took a hiatus and reformed the band after Rodney had moved to the Phoenixville area. Now, under the name The Godinez Brothers, they still hold true to their original mission, to make ‘music that makes you move!’. With the help of former bottom members, Rick Statsman(drums) and Nick Driscoll (keys and sax) , and new member ‘Big’ Ben Hillman (keys) they are an unstoppable groove force.
