The early founders of Christianity seem wholly unaware of the idea of a human Jesus-
The Jesus of the Gospels bears a striking resemblance to other ancient heroes and the figureheads of pagan savior cults-
Contemporary Christians are largely ignorant of the origins of their religion-
Fundamentalism is as strong today as it ever has been, with an alarming 44% of Americans believing Jesus will return to earth in their lifetimes-
And God simply isn't there

About me: Bowling for Columbine did it to the gun culture.
Super Size Me did it to fast food.
Now The God Who Wasn't There does it to religion.
Holding modern Christianity up to a bright spotlight, this bold and often hilarious new film asks the questions few dare to ask.
Your guide through the world of Christendom is former fundamentalist Brian Flemming, joined by such luminaries as Jesus Seminar fellow Robert M. Price, professor Richard Dawkins, author Sam Harris and historian Richard Carrier.
See the movie the Los Angeles Times calls "provocative - to put it mildly."
Hold on to your faith. It's in for a bumpy ride.
Who I'd like to meet: San Francisco Bay Guardian:
"So, did Jesus exist? Flemming, a former hardcore fundamentalist, taps his sense of humor (deadpan narration; a rapid-fire, Hollywoodized race through the life of Jesus; adding up all the acts of violence in The Passion of the Christ) and the talking heads of authors, historians, and folklorists to state his case. The God Who Wasn't There is thought-provoking enough to maybe crack open a few closed minds."
"DJ Monkey …soul-stirring, excitingly edgy music…just disturbing (read ‘mind-f**king’) enough to demand attention. There is a whole spice rack of auditory flavors here, served up like fractured poetry on a collection of intensely listenable Hallmark cards from Hell." Bill Margold, Cinema Seen, L.A. X..Press
It's Halloween, the moon is full and bright. Minions see what can't be seen, on any other night. Skeletons in the closets of Christian ghouls, grinning fundamentalists and freethinkers fighting duels. The ghost of the dark ages is rising from its tomb, bringing relics from the past, intelligence it wants to consume. In white shirts and mountain bikes, Mormons haunt the street. They knock on doors, to trick is their treat. Others claim to be sent by Jehovah, entering unhallowed grounds is their mistake. They run away screaming, dropping their copies of Watchtower and Awake! Many feel threatened that we only need science, logic and reason to appease us. They can't accept our denial of the existence of their Jesus. So on my night, we should show them that they're absurd. Since they believe in ghosts and goblins, make your voice heard. Dress up like a demon, and put on your most evil behavior. Knock on their door, and tell them that you're their savior.
We do have a barbarian at the gate, a demon lurking in the ground, frozen there for eons, now being thawed and released into the living world, where it will roast life alive. If you want to really scare yourself silly, watch this 50 minute video in one go. Turn off the light, and the phone..
