United with a passion for 60’s garage, power pop and northern soul, the Glasgow 5 piece made their recording debut in 1998 with the 7” vinyl offering ‘until I see you again’ on cult soul/garage label Detour records.
The goldenhour have just released their new album ‘Always In The Now’ (Released on 27 June 2005). The album, a follow up to 2003’s ‘Beyond the Beyond’ will be the fourth release on new Glasgow label, Neon Tetra Records.
The goldenhour’s main strength lies in a powerfully melodic live sound and to date the band have clocked up around 200 live gigs including headlining shows at ‘King Tuts Wah Wah Hut’, ‘nice’n’sleazy’ and Glasgow Barfly. The release of the acclaimed debut album brought invitations to perform at Glasgow’s ‘Gig on the Green’ and the city’s 2003 Hogmanay event as well as a date opening the show for Deep Purple at Glasgow’s SECC. Other live highlights have included support slots for acts such as Proud Mary, Cosmic Rough Riders, Dave Davies (The Kinks). Promotional highlights include a totally live session on the Billy Sloan Radio Show (Clyde 1) and a live TV performance on STV. 'Come On' was used on Sky 1's SPL coverage.
Discography: albums - 'Beyond the Beyond' - Raft Records (Raft 004), 'Always In The Now' - neon tetra records (TETRA004) Released in UK on 27 June 2005.
