Sounds Like Americana UK review: "...this record oozes the influences of the Byrds, the Long Ryders and Neil Young (Harvest era)" "...needs to be discovered by the likes of Bob Harris Country, to get the airplay that this stellar CD richly deserves."

Maverick review: "...a wonderful, laid back West Coast sound..."

Steve Chapman Smith (Henry Boon's, Wakefield): "The Good Intentions took us back to a different era with their gorgeous harmonies and heartfelt songs steeped in Americana! Pete Davies is an exceptional songwriter, their CD hasn't left my car since Thursday night and the songs just get right under your skin..."

Bryan Farrish Radio Promotions: "The Good Intentions' Americana folky sound echoes of a Grateful Dead reborn. Their sound is comparable to Gram Parsons with Emmylou. Their songs take listeners on journeys down dusty roads and past cornfields, placing you perfectly in a quaint, country-town setting."

Miles Of Music (Los Angeles): ''The Good Intentions have captured a gorgeous, Byrdsian, country / folk jangle...''

Frank Ostergren (rootsy.nu, Sweden): "A never ending stream of beautiful melancholy, a river of memories from a long time ago..."

Marthijn de Wit (Radio NOF, Netherlands): "Country with a clear British voice..."

Eddie Russell (Country Eastern West, Texas): "A feel of country music's past that sounds freshly minted..."

Country Jukebox (Germany): "...a timeless beautiful collection of Americana...a CD which satisfies the heart's desire for country, bluegrass, folk and roots..."

Good Intentions fans might be interested in this:

Picnic Club Special with Andrew "Blind Boy" Butler, Fuel Bar, Wilmslow Road, Withington, Manchester M20
Mon July 20th, 7.30pm, adm free:
Andrew "Blind Boy" Butler is best known as one third of highly acclaimed (and extremely busy) outfit Dr Butler’s Hatstand Medicine Band. As a solo artist Andrew plays just about every instrument known to mankind and musical influences range from Leadbelly to George Formby! He promises a host of new material in his Fuel set... Support comes from: Picnic Area, Manchester’s own alt country renegades; highly acclaimed scouse new country band The Good Intentions, whose new album "Poor boy" is well worth buying; and Tea For One, aka Neil Wardle (yes there is only one of him!), whose bluesy brand of Americana is reminiscent of Robert Plant’s recent work.
