Ron, a native of the San Francisco Bay Area started his musical journey at the age of six on a $25 gut string guitar, bought for him by his parents. He has studied with many teachers, though he credits Paul Sommer with teaching him the most. Ron has recorded with Oakland Blues legend JJ Malone, appearing on JJ's "The Enemy Called Hate" album. He has also performed live with John Lee Hooker, Deacon Jones, Larry "Arkansas" Davis, Melvin Jackson, James Cotton, Johnny Winter, Robben Ford and Robin Trower.
As a founding member of the Gaslighters, Ron has played numerous shows at the infamous Keystone Palo Alto. Opening for acts such as The Fabulous Thunderbirds, The Neville Brothers and playing the Keystone's closing night as the support act for Chris Isaak. For the past ten years Ron has been the driving force behind The Goodlife Rhythm & Blues Revue and "keeping the music alive."
RON TOMASELLO
RAY HAUCK - Percussion
From Long Island, New York. Ray got his musical start at an early age, singing in the school choir in the fourth grade and continuing through high school. While in high school he turned his attention to drums and percussion playing in the stage band as well as the marching band. Ray has studied with Dave Diamond (Rainbow Trout, Zen Tricksters, Wide Awake), Rob Hart, and Michael Spiro (Talking Drums). Though only in the San Francisco Bay Area for a short time, Ray has wasted no time getting involved with the music scene. He has played drums and percussion with many Bay Area bands including Roadhouse, Georgi and the Rough Week, as well as performing with the Josh Williamson Band as the support act for Joe Louis Walker at San Jose's prestigious "Music In The Park" series. Ray has also performed and recorded with singer/songwriter Kevin Worley. Now with The Goodlife Rhythm & Blues Revue, Ray feels he has found a home for his "Jam Band" inspired rhythms.
From Chicago Blues to New Orleans R&B without ever giving up the "West Coast" sound, The Goodlife Rhythm & Blues Revue is an improvisational American roots band. Steeped in Blues, early R&B, Gospel and Jazz. The band's originals and refreshing renewal of obscure cover tunes gives this ensemble and the audience a classic approach to "Live" music.
Formed over a decade ago, The Goodlife Rhythm & Blues Revue wasted no time making their mark on the San Francisco Bay Area music scene. Their outstanding musicianship creates a unique Live music experience, with the help of a long list of skillfully crafted original tunes and a blend of hand picked cover tunes. The Goodlife Rhythm & Blues Revues high-energy show always leaves their ever-growing fan base with a deep sense of satisfaction, as well as a taste for wanting more. It is because of this unusual blend that they continue to fill venues such as The Boom Boom Room, JJs, Henflings and Moes Alley.
With two albums to their credit Tales From The Blues Bunker and their most recent release Jus Kiddin on the Goldtop Records LLC label, there is no mistaking that this is an experienced group of talented musicians. Having been compared to bands such as the Allman Brothers and Santana, you cannot help but to hear this influence in the bands music. Though influenced by them and many others, The Goodlife Rhythm & Blues Revue retains a style and flavor all their own. Grab the opportunity to experience The Goodlife Rhythm & Blues Revue for yourself; youll be glad you did!
