The Good Players are an art and music collective based in Chattanooga, TN. Led by founder, Stephen Nichols, the group originally formed in 2001 only to give limited performances of songs from a sound and film piece composed by Nichols, A Good Measure. Since 2001, the group has performed its take on experimental pop throughout the Southeast U.S., from museums to factories, with a rotating lineup. The Good Players, now a five piece, continue to incorporate selections from A Good Measure as well as new material intended for future projects, often donning costumes in front of film projections during live performances. The Good Players is a multimedia concept that includes not only musicians but also filmmakers, printmakers, photographers, electronics and sound engineers, fashion and costume designers, poets, and performance artists. At any given performance, an audience can expect to find some new combination of any of these disciplines.
A Good Measure is currently in production at As Elyzum Studios, a newly assembled art and music studio in downtown Chattanooga, TN. The GOOD intention is to organize events and experiments to engage, edify, and unite the arts community.
