Sounds Like
.....The night I went, The Good Rub took the stage, seven or eight guys with horns, drums and guitars. Given the size of the rather small stage, in the side room of the basement bar, the word intimate doesn't do justice. The sounds projected toward the audience, mostly instrumental, were impressive, from jazz to soul to Latin to disco. As in the first half of the evening, the performers really took from all sorts of music and created a deep, warm hug around the audience, digging the vibe regardless of the genre.

Earlier this decade seven young Orlando musicians got together to play music written by Tony Venturini and Harrison Light. What started out as reading/jam sessions at Joey's house, became a regular rehearsal. Although it was side project for everyone, it was decided that we needed a name. We came up with the GoodRub. In 2003 we recorded about 12 tunes in 2 days. Eventually everyone got too busy with their money gigs and real life, so after only a few live shows and one recording session it was put on the back burner. We haven't thrown out the music and most of us live in Orlando still, and we are all better players than we were just 5 years ago. So we started recording at the very end of 2007 at Willie's studio and We're Starfish! The Album is done. After a limited soft release on May 20, 2008 we are taking a census before having the official release party. Contact us for copies of We're Starfish. Junk Live at Blow Sunday March 30th at Tanqueray's is now playing. You feel us we feel you back.
