Coming from the ashes of North Walsham's seminal proto-flange unit Phnom Penh, the Gore Vidals have been the bane of civilized society for far too long now. Sharing amongst them both a shared Cafe employer and a taste for true unabashed decadence, these 5 men can usually be seen in the corner looking bored, or fighting amongst themselves.

“Scottish prodigies Popup are making a huge impact, they’re the best new band we have seen this week and will be one of the hottest bands of 2007”. – NME
Popup are a wee Scottish Indie-Pop band that have played live on BBC TV & Radio and done sessions for XFM and had lots of airplay in Japan, USA and Germany where their debut single "Lucy, What You Trying to Say?" was No3 in the Radio Bremen listeners year end poll, Popup have been written about by many magazines like NME where they were recently "live band of the week" and their friends at Artrocker supported the band with an invite to play their stage at The Great Escape 2007. Popup recently toured Texas and New Orleans, (including SxSW) and they recently performed at London Calling in Amsterdam and did 3 shows for the BritBus tour in NYC, they have such a wonderful range of influences, from jangle-tastic Postcard era Orange Juice through to the indie-tastic saviours of indie-pop The Pastels to balls out blistering riff monsters via Arab Strap and everything in between, but without sounding muddled and contrived.... everything sounds like Popup. We think you will like their songs and you can see and here more at.... www.myspace.com/popuptheband
