De Gentse Bolwerkfanfare is reeds verdwenen sinds 10 januari 2009.Doorgedreven speurwerk heeft niks opgeleverd De onzekerheid van haar lotsbestemming maakt het nog zwaarder om dragen,maar we moeten sterk zijn en aanvaarden:
DE BOLWERKFANFARE IS NIET MEER
Wij willen op 17 april samen met u een laatste eerbetoon brengen aan de Bolwerkfanfare. Blijf niet met je verdriet zitten, gedeelde smart is halve smart!
De dienst wordt ingekleed door de dames van RouwendeVrouwen.com en om 20h30 opgeluisterd door Rat Ka Bay Bal, een gezelschap dat ons eigenlijk volslagen vreemd is, maar dat beweert de Bolwerkfanfare zeer goed gekend te hebben.

Op 10 januari 2009 werd de Gentse Bolwerkfanfare verwacht op een kerstboomverbranding in Wevelgem.
Ze is nooit komen opdagen en sindsdien is niks meer van haar vernomen.
Fans en organisatoren zijn de wanhoop nabij. De muziekwereld spreekt van een onrustwekkende verdwijning.
Als u iets gezien of gehoord heeft dat tot haar opsporing zou kunnen leiden, mail dan naar:

The Taraf de Haïdouks - the name literally translates as "band of honourable brigands" - are a bunch of extraordinary and colourful characters, who have managed to convince the audiences of the biggest World Music festivals. "Their wild energy is the essence of gypsy music ... their set seemed like the bubbling source of 20th century rhythm ... they spun out cadences that recalled bebop, salsa, and the polyrhythms of Zimbabwe and Nigeria" (The New York Times), "the band that's wowing London" (The Evening Standard, 7 June 2001) through their rhythmically complex songs with grace, easy camaraderie and sense of mischief wins over everybody in concerts.
Along with these ambitious compositions one will rediscover with great pleasure the fantastic atmosphere of a Taraf de Haïdouks live performance in a collection of previously-unrecorded pieces featuring the various singers and soloists in top form and particularly galvanized by the importance of the event. These were indeed the band's first ever concerts in the Romanian capital; after ten years of international success the Taraf were still not recognized in their own country (maybe because they were perceived as Gypsies rather than as musicians).

Met De Predikanten werden we eind november hartelijk ontvangen door JIM en onmiddellijk opgenomen in de algemene playlist van de vlaamse muziekzender. Daarnaast werd dezelfde video "Wablief?" in de Puur Belgisch chart gezet. Op 23 november werden we als hoogste nieuwkomer genoteerd op de vijfde plaats en enkele weken later staken we zelfs Milow zijn wereldhit 'Ayo Technology' voorbij!
Met een derde plaats nemen wij natuurlijk geen genoegen, daarom deze oproep om ons week na week op nummer 1 te stemmen.
Als extra bieden we jullie een compilatie van het verloop op JIM, een klein interview én de review van Kurt Overberg (algemeen directeur van Ancienne Belgique).
