A pair of sisters and three pairs of cousins walk into a bar carrying four instruments. Before you are too perplexed by the riddle, however, your toe starts tapping and your heart lifts at the sound of the subtle, smiling music of the Grady Girls. Family ties are important to these women who have traveled far and wide (Cork, Limerick, Spain and beyond) to study and perform the traditional music of Ireland, music that has been an integral part of their lives since day one. Oona (fiddle), Nora (fiddle) and Leah (bodhrán) are all based in Ithaca, their hometown, and are currently drawing further musical inspiration from their old time neighbors, exploring the links between different genres of traditional music. Marie (flute) is making a special trip home from Galway to join in the Grady Girls' efforts to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in style with their favorite Irish dance tunes. The Girls are joined this March by Seph Murtagh (guitar) who also studied music in Cork and Lydia Garrison (vocals) whose beautifully honest voice is complimented by the the group's arrangements. Bio:

A Quartet of fiddles, flute, and bodhran played by a pair of sisters and their two cousins, the Grady Girls gracefully combine the pulsing melodies of slides and polkas (that they picked up in the southwest of Ireland), with more widely known dance tunes such as jigs and reels. Proudly carrying on the musical traditions of their forefathers and foremothers, the lovely young Gradys will sing, fiddle, and step-dance their way into your hearts, much as they entered ours from the first time we met them. ..
