The Grams are a guitar based 4-piece consisting of two brothers, Dan and Tony Porter, and two life-long friends, Ben Park and Andy Watts. The Grams draw their influences from a variety of bands, in particular Bloc Party, the Cribs and Editors.
In 2007, the Grams recorded an EP mixed and produced by Jon Gray for Big Life management. Jon Gray recorded the new Editors LP for Jack Knife Lee and has mixed hits for the likes of the Zutons, the Coral and the Subways (www.biglifeproducers.com).
The Grams performed at the O2 Wireless Festival in Hyde Park after winning the 2007 XFM unsigned radio competition, voted by the general public, and also supported the Wombats at KOKO for Club NME.
This year the Grams are planning to record their debut album - a sense of extra well being - and will then be on the road touring the UK.
POWDER BY KEVIN SAMPSON
Where the name "The Grams" comes from:
This caused a bit of a stir when it was first published. Its a story of the rise and fall of a rock and roll band. This is an adult read with bad language and debauchery. It will cheer you up in depressing January.
Keva McCluskey, lead singer of Liverpool band The Grams, is convulsed with jealousy when their inferior rivals Sensira hit the headlines. But a fortuitous meeting with society Trustafarian Guy de Burret boots the unsuspecting Grams straight into the harsh limelight. The band's camaraderie is rent asunder, as a bewildering host of journalists, music moguls and parasites works its sinister magic. The Grams have to fight to save their minds, their bodies and their friendship. They win, lose and ultimately, win again in this bacchanalian tale of sex, drugs. And rock'n'roll.

Im asking you all from the bottom of my heart... To PLEASE take the
time to watch the movie Invisible Children. You can find it on YOUTUBE.
These children are killed and abducted everyday. If we the people
scream and shout or voices will be heard and some of these precious
children could be saved from a life of pure hell.
I urge you to send this to anyone you know and to also write your
government including Obama. Let your voice along with many many others
be heard. It takes a second to write your concern and will help save
hundreds of dieing children in Uganda.
Look inside your hearts and see that we are all connected and all of us
should be helping our brothers and sisters. Not just Americans but the
world! And we can live in harmony if people would really care.
