Every once in a great while a culmination of talents and forces formulate to create something epic.
Energies combine to produce something with an aura, which radiates authority and distinction amongst the rest, reassuring that there is something great on the horizon. The Greater Good is that dynamism. Hailed by many the most prolific assortment of MCs from Boston, they are a hip hop super group consisting of Amadeus the Stampede J The S ,Lord Touch, Prone 2, Speks, Top Notch, and DJ Special Blend.
Never before has the music world seen a group consist of such varying life styles and musical styles mesh effortlessly into one cohesive family. The Good was formed one late night in a studio session freestyle, where the five original members Amadeus, Benny, J The S, Prone, and Wiz were all flexing each others styles, and the result was evident.
Mutual feelings desired that something had to come of this. Prone later developed the title ..The Greater Good.., not only describing the The Bean's much needed element of powerful talent, but the hip hop games need in general for something of this magnitude. Speks, who grew up with Amadeus in the Tent City housing development in the South End, as well as gone to high school with Benny, was already associated with the whole click. After coming home from a jail bid he fit perfectly into the crew, and the sinister six was formed. Eventually Top Notch (formerly Karas), a friend of Snake's who had came to Boston from South Central L.A., was inducted into the group after working closely with them for years.
When Lord Touch would return home the state penitentiary, he would joint the group. The G-double-O-D has percerveared through roster adjustments, incarcarations, and more only to thrive with numerous strong solo releases. And now it has culminated in the groups latest project, the highly anticipated, long awwaited "As Good As It Gets" has finally arived.
Welcome to the Greater Good...it's not a movement..it's a mentality.
