Sounds Like
Violent Space Rock
aka:Led Zepplin, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd and Punk Rock had a Grunge Baby.
"The debut offering from The Greatest Touchdown Ever Scored features huge guitars. Although the term "huge" can most certainly be applied to the sound of the guitars, it can also be used in this instance to reflect the fact that it sounds like Duane is playing guitars that are much larger in size than those we’ve typically heard in rock music."

The Greatest Touchdown Ever Scored…Violent Space Rock!!!
TGTES is a project that was started by producer/engineer and songwriter Duane Burda(MY RUIN/FIRETRUCS) in Minneapolis who now calls Los Angeles home.
Lyrically he can be dark yet sweet. Drawing on his own experiences and relationships this is honest and compelling. It draws you in taking you through a full range of emotions while at times being cryptic.
Music inspired by his desire to combine elements from the many genres he experienced in Minneapolis, including Hard Rock, Metal, Punk, Folk and Space Rock. Also allowing him to bring in fellow musicians without constraints of their perspective styles.
Sound of the album is very dynamic and lush yet at times in your face. With spacey interludes sitting next to guitar rock. The compositions are interesting and melodic making them at home in your Ipod and hi-fi stereo revealing different details in each.
While Duane was the bass player in the local Indie Punk Rock band The Short Fuses, he began writing new songs using whatever inspired him. He had a lot to draw from as he was a sound engineer for local clubs First Ave(Purple Rain), the 7th St Entry and 400 bar. It was a flourishing scene in the early part of the new century. There were new bands popping up all the time as well as singer song writers. He worked on records with bands like Firetrucs and Lucky Jeremy as well as working closely with Bellwether on their live sound.
After being frustrated with the cold gloomy winters of Minneapolis and looking for a change of pace, Duane decides to move to LA after one show at the 7th St Entry opening for Firetrucs. Finding new inspiration he continued to write and compose.
Most of the recording and mixing was done at the Hobby Shop, owned by fellow producer/engineers Andrew “Mudrock” Murdock and Scott Gilman. The music was recorded in 5 days with help from engineer David Spreng(Damone) and musicians Jorge Villanueva and Billy Jones.
While mixing the album in the spring of 2006 The Greatest Touchdown Ever Scored returned to the stage for the first time since making the move from Minneapolis. Their residency at The Scene Bar that March launched them back into the LA Indie rock scene. The LA Gentleman Callers, Tsk Tsk and Veruca Salt joined them in their quest for Rock.
Look out for these guys. Their live performances are something to be seen. Wide dynamic swings make for a show that can’t be ignored. With an atmospheric sound that drives on through their set, these guys display wit, charm and tenacity.
This is Violent Space Rock!
The inventors of Violent Space Rock(aka VSR) are here! Don't be fooled by the imposters.
