About The Great Lakes Surf Battle

Welcome to the Great Lakes Surf Battle! This annual event was started in June of 2006 by Toronto area surf bands, the Blue Demons and the von Drats.

The first GLSB in 2006 featured surf bands from accross the Greater Toronto Area, and was considered very special due to a visit from surf music’s first lady, Tiki Tena. In 2007, the event was even bigger and badder when bands from around Canada made the trip to contribute to the two night party. Now, it has become a part of surf rock lore with hopes that new bands from far and wide, regardless of Great Lakes proximity, will join in on the madness!
