OUT NOW on Idiosyncratics Records :
Phil Maggi - Blue FIelds in Paramount CD

Blue Fields in Paramount is a very personal and fascinating opus, a beautiful introduction to the style of this talented artist, that could be qualified as 'dark psychedelia for daydream believers'. It has been mastered by James Plotkin (Khlyst, Khanate, Old, Phantom) and is out now as a stricly limited to 300 copies ekopack edition with a fantastic artwork by czech artist Jan Karpisek.

Sat 28th June, Fuel, Withington, 8pm, £4

EYES come from Chicago and make glorious music for dancing that straddles the vibes of Ariel Pink and HEALTH. The type of band people might lie about having seen first time round once they make the cover of Plan B. You know, if they felt so inclined.

Skitanja, in spite of what the poster says, are actually from Bournemouth. They make scrappy, electronic bleep party pop music with guitar.

Shiu-Yeung Hui is the Chinese member of Japanese group Maher Shalal Hash Baz. He drinks quite a lot of neat vodka then takes to the stage to perform his wonderful, fractured, miniature songs using guitar and keyboard. An exercise in patience, an audience with Shiu pays off massively.

Elapse O are a death disco unit from Oxford. Imagine swimming the butterfly through a load of broken Swans LPs. That's what they sound like. Dig.

MIND ON FIRE
presents…

BEANS (Anti Pop Consortium / Warp Records / NYC)

New York’s Beans (aka Mr. Ballbeam) made his name as part of the Mythic Soup / Boom Poetic collective, and then as one third of legendary NYC progressive rap crew Anti Pop Consortium. His recent solo offerings on Warp Records, and Thirsty Ear, as well as shows with everyone from Radiohead, Tortoise, Battles, and Prefuse 73, to DJ Shadow, Kool Keith, Pharoahe Monch and Aesop Rock, have given Beans one of the most diverse and exciting live hip hop shows around.

PARKERTRON (Fingathing)
The debut Manchester show from Parkertron, a solo electro MPC set from Fingathing’s Peter Parker.

ABSENT MINDS
Sadly the last ever show from this much loved local hip hop duo, but theyre sure to go out with a bang.

SE7EN + BIOME (Subsonik Records)
Soon to be released by Subsonik, these Manchester dubstep producers showcase some exclusive cuts. Featuring Subliminal on the mic.

WOLIWOLS + SOME OTHER GUY (Mind on Fire)

On Saturday 7th April:

PRIESTBIRD (formerly Tarantula AD)

Expect mournful strings, Gregorian harmonies, funeral odes and psyched out progtastic mentalism. After working with Devendra Banhart and CocoRosie. A sold out arena tour with Pearl Jam (yes you did read that right!), and a mind blowing set at last years All Tomorrows Parties we are proud to bring to them the Phoenix!

"...sure to draw comparisons with Godspeed You! Black Emperor" [Uncut]

"Epic? Most of it makes Radiohead's 'Paranoid Android' sound like Babyshamles. With guest vocalists such as Devendra Banhart, it all adds up to an intriguingly freaky kind of trip." [Q]

DAVID DONDERO

The man who inspired us to put on gigs, back in May 2006, after we arranged a couple of shows for him, and spent a crazy weekend with him whilst he played at the Mudhoney curated ATP. This is where the whole new omaha sound came from. Conor Oberst was so indebted, he has now snapped him up on his new Team Love label, with the likes of Tilly and The Wall, Jenny Lewis and Gruff Rhys.

Friends of the Minghe Morte...

Our album is now finished.

Some of the tracks can be heard on our page RIGHT NOW!

If you catch us at one of our gigs (tour currently being organised) then you can purchase a copy.

It lasts for just over 45 minutes... so for all you old schoolers out there, you can just about squeeze it onto one side of a C90... brilliant!

Come to our page...

...shower us with love...

...tell your friends...

...yada yada yada...
