Once in a while there comes a performer that redefines boundaries and revolutionizes the way music is interpreted. That artist is here and his name is The Great White Mark.

The Great White Mark demonstrates an extensive vocabulary coupled with a sweet rhythmical flow which attracts listeners to his voice. But it is through his lyrics that he demonstrates an ability to tell powerful stories which bring the reality of life to heart. From tales of poverty in his neighborhood to comments on the Iraq War, The Great White Mark brings a flavorful new meaning to the way hip hop music is used. Now residing in Washington D.C., a city where politics overshadows the lives of citizens under it, the Philly native is hoping to become a force in the hip hop industry and shed light on a nation's capital filled with a dim future.

Since arriving in Washington, The Great White Mark built his repertoire as an entertaining persona on his college radio station, WRGW (gwradio.com). He hosted the hottest show on the hip hop block called "Funkadelic Freestyles", where he displayed his serious lyrical skills through various ciphers and updated listeners on what was going down in the industry. He also invited and interviewed local D.C. artists in the area to promote the city's hip hop talent.

IN 2006 GREAT WHITE MARK WAS FEATURED ON MTV U PRESENTING THE BREAKING ARTIST AWARD AT THE WOODIE AWARDS PROMOTING HIS RADIO SHOW AND REPRESENTING HIS UNIVERSITY.

ADDITIONALLY, HE WAS RECOGNIZED AS MTVU.COM'S COLLEGE DJ OF THE MONTH IN JANUARY 2007 (MTVU.COM/MUSIC/RADIO)

Now its The Great White Mark's turn to shine. With his new single "Sorrow of the Soldier", the Washington emcee is looking to demonstrate his talent and help guide the industry in a direction of fresh high energy music, social consciousness messages, and love for the culture which hip hop celebrates.

"My ambition speaks for itself", says The Great White Mark. "If I can work hard to make music which changes the way people think about the world around them and encourage them to do something about it, then I've done my job. Hip hop is in my soul."
