People:
Rhysling: the blind songer of the spaceways - the protagonist of our story.
The Evil Aliens: these territorial bastards are the ones who robbed Rhysling of his sight all those years ago. Rhysling's ill-fated journey brings him into their line of fire once again.
The Good Alien: this female alien is one of the Evil Aliens' race, but a rebel group who travels around the galaxy helping thos poor innocents their race terroroses in their inbred, humanity-hating fury. These aliens are blessed with beautiful voices to guide the now blind victims to safety. They have no exact physical form.
The Stupid Crew-Mates: Rhysling finds himself on a ship unfortunately run by stupid people. Not knowing the difference between the good and evil of the alien race, they ensure the downfall of Rhysling and his new alien love by killing her as he stands by.
The Hijacker: While on Mars, Rhysling's transport gets temporarily hijacked by an alien who demands a lift to the space port. This particular race of aliens is small and ginger and look a lot like Bonnie Langford.

Story:
Rhysling has started out on another adventure through space. First, to Mars, where he encounters the asymptote of destiny face to face in the guise of the huge industrial machines that there dwell (let that be a lesson to mankind - soon the machines will control their minds). Then, on to Uranus (yes, yours!) where he finds the ghosts in the mines, long neglected after all the precious things had been dug up. Hitching a ride on a science vessel, Rhysling begins to doubt his enjoyment of his lifestyle, and longs for a proper companion. Then, disaster. The ship is attacked by the Evil Aliens, all his crew mates go blind, they get rescued by the Good Female Alien, who Rhysling falls in love with, but then, when she's about to leave she gets shot and killed by a newly blind crewmate (I told you they were stupid). Rhysling is, understandable, upset.

Coming Soon:
More 'Green Hills' Songs!
In 2006: The tragic country concept album about the love between an ant and a termite...
In 1951 Robert A. Heinlein published his book, 'The Green Hills of Earth.' Packed with space adventure, the book is based around on e of the very few sicence fiction poems in the 1950s, 'The Green Hills of Earth.'
In 2005 I made a 12-track 'space opera' set in the future (or the past), based on the main character of the book, Rhysling - the blind singer of the spaceways. With a little help from the Rev.
Once the greatest space captains of all time, Rhysling was robbed of his sight by evil aliens when his ship accidently encroached on thier territory. Now, armed only with his guitar he hitches across the galaxy, buying passage with a song...
We pray for one last landing
On the globe that gave us birth,
Let us rest our eyes on fleecy skies,
And the cool green hills of Earth!
The Arching sky is calling
Spacemen back to their trade.
All hands! Stand by! Free falling!
And the lights below us fade.
Out ride the sons of Terra,
Far drives the thundering jet,
Up leaps the race of Earthmen,
Out, far, and onward yet -
We've tried each spinning space mote
And reckoned its true worth:
Take us back again to the homes of men
On the cool, green hills of Earth.

As with all music direct from space, it strives towards progressive rock. Oh, if you wanted some influences, I am mainly influenced by stuff like Van der Graaf Generator (I wish), The War of the Worlds, Peter Hammil and David Essex. I am waiting for the time when I have a few days free to live the SF dream - the one other than watching all 5 Planet of the Apes films back to back - I recommend it - there is nothing better than another installment of the 'Apes.' Curse you Richard Burton, you have made good films in the past, but to humiliate my favourite film and then not pay for the taxi is unforgivable. So what is the other SF dream (no, Lord of the Rings counts as fantasy...)?
im thankful for the good wishes for my move to the big smoke im also intruiged, not only by the music as i only get it in 2 second snippets (still on dial up, slow as fuck) but also intruiged as to who this is? just would like to know who im thanking
