  • THE GREEN LEAF OCEAN Music Video NEW!

    Current mood:rockin

I had a super awesome 2010 summer despite the recession, in between hitting the surf and hanging out at the beach there were some pretty cool projects which are still in production or almost done.  I began recording a spoken word poetry album for legendary underground American poet Barton Levi St. Armand, just wrapped up the editing for a new video for The Green Leaf song Ocean which features a 50’s style 1931 roadster I built at Hot Rod Surf here in San Diego, and I am almost finished with post production of the video for The Green Leaf song Watch Out! featuring some really cool go-go dancing and some special effects.  I even had some time to build a ½ pipe for skateboarding and put together some custom bmx’s.  The messed up economy can actually be kind of fun when you slow down, adjust, and enjoy the rapid decline of western civilization……

    News from MWM

It’s summer time here in San Diego.  I have been spending my time at the beach hanging out and working on building a 1929 steel roadster for a land speed race car. I have an awesome new addition of a very beautiful Doberman puppy sent all the way from South America to San Diego.  The puppy is only a few months old and has all of the qualities I admire in the breed, strength, loyalty, streamlined beauty, and tons of great energy.

The Green Leaf Live Homegrown San Diego Album

The reissue of The Green Leaf Live Homegrown San Diego album is now available! I personally went through the master tapes from some of our vintage San Diego shows to make sure this reissue rocks.  The album is rough sounding but true to the energy and fun of a live Green Leaf show.  If you’re a music sicko and have a collection of bootleg recordings from your favorite bands you will probably get this album.  It should bring back some memories for those that attended and helped out at these shows.  Remember back in the early and mid nineties there were no classic rock styled bands like we have now ala the Strokes, or White Stripes, ect.  It was like pulling baby alligator teeth to get shows scheduled and performed.  The Green Leaf was banned from playing some venues and had a great time playing other venues.  Part of the landscape of San Diego is that people are always snapping and moving in and out of the beach area so there were, and still are, issues with getting the right bunch of musicians together for more than a short time.  This album is a snap shot of The Green Leaf rock and roll style from this era.  I was joking with one of my bros the other day that the theme song for the San Diego beach community should be ‘Another One Bites the Dust.’ Some cool video from these tracks exists and will eventually be released in the future.  My personal favorite tracks are from the live summer show in Mission Beach.
