The Grinds were formed in early July 2006 when they took a night stroll downtown during a cigarette break from their production sessions after suffering from serious headphone fatigue... Having listened to a great deal of ambient, electronica, and dance music records for years they decided to crush, grind and blend diverse musical elements and infuse an eclectic selection of flavors to their productions from their own ethnic musical background and beyond... Intermixed musical gestures, beats and melodies are all fused together to spark unique tunes with a strong passion for sensual voyages where only mind and soul can travel...
The duet find inspiration in rare traditional instruments and songs, as well as in stimulating synthetic sounds and textures, and in life itself as a whole, where a particular mood or feel can spark off the creation of a new work of art almost instantaneously; at any time, any place... The Grinds met at the University of Westminster in 2005, where both studied the craft of audio production and slowly started producing music together.
Their debut album "Under The Chillin’ Sun" was conceived and realized during the early summer of 2006, and it's inspired by the motive to express the creators' feelings through their culture, experiences and inner need to produce "global" music; a music that knows no frontiers... Up to this date, the pair are close to the final stages of the album production and are planning to release "Under the Chillin’ Sun" very soon… Its promotion has just got started!
