Sounds Like
"A walk in the park with Pat McGee" — The Roanoke Times.
"Groova Scape is a perfect name for these guys, who seem to have the flow controlled by some sort of invisible switch; maybe even a lever. Whatever it was, they unleashed it upon the MusicCast and we couldn't be happier." — Roanoke Times' Timescast.

Groova Scape has its own very distinctive sound. Def a guitar band. Def a jam band. Yet there are folk, jazz, southern rock, funky blues, even electronica elements. Give us a chance, and we'll take you some place. Maybe even rock your britches off.

These guys are unbelievably creative," said Hash, the bassist for Thievery Corporation, after rocking through a 30-minute jam with Groova Scape at 202 Market in Roanoke in January. Michael Travis of String Cheese said similar things after jamming with Groova in April at 202 Market. "I had a lot of fun," Travis, who said he has never before jammed with an opening act, told Groova Scape afterwards. "You guys can jam. It was awesome."
Saying he was inspired by Groova's warm-up, Travis jumped in with the Roanoke band and smoked through one of Groova's jams, Power Down, for the sweetest 15 minutes in the band's existence.
It was a busy 2008 for Groova Scape, with shows opening for Tim Reynolds and TR3, for RAQ, for Thievery Corporation, for Yo Mama's Big Fat Booty Band, for the Bridge, for U-Melt, and for EOTO and numerous others.
.........FROM THE ROANOKE TIMES REVIEW OF TIM REYNOLDS AND GROOVA SCAPE: "If the band sticks together and stays serious, it could become an original force."

If you are a CT band interested in playing at Toad’s Place, please take note of the following:
Online press kits are preferred. Please send the following information only to Hollis@toadsplace.com:
- short bio
- website/myspace link
- contact name/phone number/band’s current home base
It is not necessary to send multiple emails. Once she reads & reviews your EPK, she keep your band’s information on file for future reference. If you haven’t heard back, it is simply because there is nothing currently available.
Also, please do not ask to play with a specific band that you see on our schedule. Odds are very slim that you will play with a national act your first few times in the club. Even smaller if you are not from the Greater New Haven area.
If you must send a hard copy (in lieu of saving yourself money & trees!), send it to:
There is currently a search for two types of bands for record label consideration.
*** Note: PLEASE IDENTIFY IF YOU ARE IN GROUP 1 OR 2 IN THE SUBJECT LINE OF YOUR RESPONSE. Emails are being reviewed by different representatives.
1. A Pop/Rock/Commercial band with female lead. Band must consist of 2 guitars (Prefer both guitar players to be of lead caliber. However, one lead and one rhythm is acceptable), keyboard/piano, bass, and drums. Lead vocal, followed by backing vocals, in that order, is a plus as it relates to other members of the group. Average age of the band cannot exceed 28 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
2. A Modern Rock band with male lead. Must be a complete band but there are no prerequisites as it relates to the make up of the band. Average age of the band cannot exceed 23 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
XXX - If you meet the minimum qualifications as described above. Email a link for your MySpace Page and if applicable, a link for your website to: recordingartistsearch@gmail.com
Only send one email with your links. Due to the volume of responses normally received for these types of opportunities. After review of your material, you will only be contacted if there is an interest in attending one of your shows by a label representative. As such please to not send any follow up emails regarding selections. If you were not contacted back, there was not an interest.
Thankyou for your valued friendship and kind support, please tell your friends to come to 'Friend Vote' Indie Top 100 and help find the undiscovered talent on MySpace, your vote really counts! All the best, Keith.
you guys should try and squeeze in a gig in Charleston W.V. and treat us to some GROOVA..............................much brotherly love.....................Spurgie
