BIOGRAFIA
Il quartet nasce nel 2005 dalla passione per le sonorità dell'Organo Hammond e le colonne sonore '60 '70.
Nel Luglio 2007 esce il loro primo singolo "45 GIRI" e nel Marzo 2008 esce il primo album dall'omonimo titolo "THE GROOVE YARD" entrambi registrati a "Elfo Studio" di Piacenza con la partecipazione e l'aiuto di 2 Super Ospiti: Luca Donini al Sax e Giuliano Perin al Vibrafono.
Entrambi i lavori ricevono diversi favori dal pubblico sopratutto nel panorama sixties e mod, dove i “The Groove Yard” si trovano pienamente a proprio agio, regalando interessanti performance live, tra cui Winter & Summer Beat Epoque '07, 60° Lambretta - Modena motori '07, All Saint Mod Holiday '07, M.E.I. '07, United Club (TO), Uwound Club (PD), Sonà Club (TN), Perarock '08, Raduno Nazionale Mod '08, Vibra Club (MO) with Emila Soul Lover vicino a nomi nazionali ed internazionali di tutto rispetto come Di Maggio Connection (Marco Di Maggio), The Fuzztones (U.S.A.), The Five Aces (ex Boogaloow Investigators) (U.K.), The Mooving Sound (SVEZIA), The Blue Van (DANIMARCA), Dino Farfisa & Fuzz (FRANCIA).
Nel Febbraio 2008 Radio R.C.S. presenta l'album con un'intervista al quartet, per tutta l'estate 2008 Radio Mod U.K. manda in onda "45 Giri" e "Porsche 356", a settembre si aggiunge Phoenix Radio Net, con le quali è nata una collaborazione per la realizzazione di alcuni Jingles e Sigle registrati al "Cat Sound Studio" di Rovigo con la partecipazione del Grande Gabriele Bolcato alla Tromba e Jacqui Caroll che vanno in onda quotidianamente da 5 mesi.
Al momento i The Groove Yard, oltre a svolgere una buona attività live, stanno lavorando alla realizzazione del loro nuovo long playing.

Questo quartetto vicentino di soul/mod jazz già mi impressionò dal vivo al Winter Beat Epoque ed ora si conferma in tutte le sue potenzialità in questo three tracks CD autoprodotto dal packaging curatissimo. Inciso nella roccaforte dell'Elfo Studio che ne esalta le qualità musicali, il gruppo parte da un groove che potrebbe essere similare a certe situazioni Acid Jazz londinesi, vedi James Taylor Quartet, ma metabolizzato in una preparazione Jazz che ha una lunga tradizione nel gusto italico. La title track è soul jazz mozzafiato e ricco di groove con la chitarra che esprime licks in chiave space age jazz e potrebbe far parte di una soundtrack di uno spy movie. Cenere denota la varietà di linguaggio del quartetto che si diletta in un West Coast Jazz, stile Jimmy Giuffre o Gerry Mulligan, molto romantico e d'atmosfera. Chiude Vuoto D'Aria, un soul jazz fulmineo dal groove coinvolgente. Una realtà, i Groove Yard, destinata a crescere notevolmente. "Dj Henry - Milano Mods"
BIOGRAPHY
The Groove Yard quartet have began in 2005 thanks to their interest in the Hammond sound and in Sixties and Seventies movie soundtracks.
In July 2007 their first track “45 GIRI” has been pubblished and in March 2008 their first album “THE GROOVE YARD” has been published. Both “45 Giri” and “The Groove Yard” have been recorded in “Elfo Studio” in Piacenza with the collaboration of 2 Great artists: Luca Donini at the sax and Giuliano Perin at the vibraphone.
The audience, in particolar mod and Sixties environment liked both “45 Giri” and “The Groove Yard”. These are ideal atmospheres for this quartet, so they gave very good performances like Winter & Summer Beat Epoque '07, 60° Lambretta - Modena motori '07, All Saint Mod Holiday '07, M.E.I. '07, United Club Torin, Uwound Club in Padua, Sonà Club in Trento, Perarock '08, Raduno Nazionale Mod '08, Vibra Club in Modena with Emila Soul Lover. They played together with national and international important artists as Di Maggio Connection (Marco Di Maggio), The Fuzztones (U.S.A.), The Five Aces (ex Boogaloow Investigators) (U.K.), The Mooving Sound (Sweden), The Blue Van (Denmark), Dino Farfisa & Fuzz (France).
In February 2008 Radio R.C.S. interviews the quartet that presents his album. Mod Radio U.K. broadcast “45 Giri” and “Porsche 356” during the entire summer 2008. In September 2008 Phoenix Radio Net broadcast these tracks too. The quartet cooperated with both radios to recorded 5 Jingles. The recording studio was the “Cat Sound Studio” in Rovigo with the collaboration of Gabriele Bolcato, great trumpet player and Jacqui Caroll at voice.
This Jingles are on air every day from 5 mounth.
At the moment “The Groove Yard” carry out good live performances. In addition they are preparing their new long playing.

"Sound & Vision" review - September 2007
This soul/mod jazz quartet from Vicenza impressed me yet at Winter Beat Epoque in a live concert. Now The Groove Yard confirms all its potentialities in this three tracks CD entitled “45 Giri”, produced by them, that has a very well-polished sleeve.
"45 Giri" has been recorded in Elfo Studio that highlights musical qualities of the quartet. At the base of this quartet there is a groove, which could be similar to certain London Acid Jazz situations, like James Taylor Quartet. But the particularity of The Groove Yard’s groove is that it has a Jazz setting which has a long tradition in the Italian gusto.
The title track is a Soul Jazz track breathtaking rich of groove. In this track guitar expresses licks in a space age jazz way and it could be part of a spy movie soundtrack. The track entitled “Cenere” shows the language variety of this quartet who takes delight in doing an atmospheric and romantic West Coast Jazz like Jimmy Giuffre or Gerry Mulligan’s style. The last track entitled “Vuoto D’Aria” is a fulminate Soul Jazz music with an involving groove.
