About me:
Welcome to The Groovie Movie, a film screening series presented by Puck, Buck’s County, Pa’s premier entertaiment venue in the heart of Doylestown, Pa.
The event is hosted by Puck’s very own Sound Man Mike Lightkep and local film director and screenwriter, John Charles Hunt of ’Jersey Justice’ fame.
Our focus is to offer up the offbeat, the seldom seen and overlooked gems of all genres - animation, horror, documentaries, foreign cinema and, of course, the heart of the project, a forum for local and regional filmakers to strut their stuff and their work to the filmgoing public.
Events will include: personal appearances by film production people like directors, actors, cinematographers, graphic artists, stuntmen, and others associated with a films’ production, trivia contests, fun door prizes and even a special outdoor screening or two during the warmer months! Of course, the highlight of each event is the screenings themselves with a healthy dose of comment, disscusion and friendly discourse before and after the film.
Come enjoy old and new cinematic favorites in the comfortable surrounding of an intimate night club setting complete with great food and beverages.
Doors open at 5:00pm for dinner and indtrductions and screenings will begin about one hour or so after that. Please always check here for any updates, changes or variations to this schedule.
You must be 21+ to enter with id and there is a $5.00 admission fee.
