Founded in 1974 by Gary Austin, The Groundlings Theater has served as the home to some of the world’s most talented sketch and improvisational actors from Phil Hartman and Paul Reubens to Lisa Kudrow and Will Ferrell. The theater has served as the birthplace to many of the innovative comedic sketches and characters now ingrained as a prominant part of American culture.
