For The Guilty Hearts, life has been just that...
one giant concert in their hearts and minds.
so began their process of musical distillation.
All raised on early r&b and rock n roll's primal rhythms,
the hearts soon found kinship in new styles of music...
like punk, garage, post-punk, blues and rockabilly too.
Take their own self-destructive nature...
their obsessive love for all things primal...
and those foreboding feelings that exist in the nighttime...
and you get the essence of The Guilty Hearts.
This primitive, lo-fi combo is made up of 3 native Angelinos...
steeped in the citys' culture, angst, and excess…and now one transplant.
The Hearts wanted more growl to make your insides move and your body shake...they searched the bars and gutters of Los Angeles and had to go to Berlin to bring Gabriel Hammond of the fantastic The Lords of Altamont and The Fuzztones to play Bass...so beware!
Our second Album, PEARLS BEFORE SWINE was released on January 9th, 2009. This album burns like cheap booze burns your throat...it finds your demons, your skeletons, your ghosts and invites them to come and party...it will leave you feeling dirty...

Crucial Attack Records: State Of Mind – Mental Gold Pre-Orders!!
Originally inspired by bands like Maximum Penalty, Breakdown, Fahrenheit 451 and Leeway, State of Mind have been playing groovy NY styled hardcore since 2005. Now, four years later, the band present their second full length album entitled MENTAL GOLD, to be released by Crucial Attack Records.
It’s a new chapter in the history of a band that has previously released a demo, two 7 inches and a full length. The release marks expansion, musically as well as lyrically. Influences ranging from hip hop to classic rock can be found, while on the lyrical side they take a critical stance towards passiveness and lack of awareness in today’s society. Not very surprising for a hardcore band, you might think, but it’s turning into a rare feature these days.
Crucial Attack Records is now taking pre-orders for State Of Mind – Mental Gold LP/CD. You can order the gatefold LP on limited blue vinyl or on white vinyl. The releasedate for the record is May 16, when State Of Mind will play with True Colors and Bitter End at the Trix, Antwerpen (Belgium).
