The five members that make up this band are like five puzzle pieces that fit together perfectly and compliment each other so well. The band formed in late 2006 around singer-songwriter Dennis Gurley who has been involved with music all his life. Owner and operator of his own recording studio, Alley Trax Recording,he has also had a successful solo career releasing several albums with great reviews from critics and fans around the globe. The core rhythm section of the band which consists of Jason Penn, Larry Harmon, and Kevin Scott, were the main session musicians Dennis used in his studio for hundreds of different recording projects ranging from rock to gospel and everything in between. All three being seasoned players with Harmon coming from fronting and playing bass in several successful rock bands and Penn and Scott forming and touring with a successful blues-rock band. With the addition of Dale Friday whose musical background includes years of live shows, recording, sound engineering, song writing, and his multiple instrument abilities, the line-up was complete. With a play on words and the use of Dennis' last name, THE GURLEY SHOW was ready to take their music to the people. The five members combined bring together many years of musical experience that create a large musical tapestry with endless possibilities. The band spent the first part of 2007 writing and recording their debut cd and playing a few small shows with great response to their new material. With the release of their debut cd,"THE GURLEY SHOW" in Jan. of 2008, the band's schedule was quickly filled with shows. They performed in clubs, at charity events, did promotional shows, and festivals throughout the year. Along with touring they released the single, "HOMETOWN HERO" and received major radio play on local stations and even some stations in surrounding states. Because of the attention the song received, the band was invited to perform on the WREG Channel 3 Memphis morning show, Live At 9. In late Dec. 2008 the band brought in Matt Adams to cover lead guitar duties. Matt is a very dedicated and accomplished musician with years of playing, writing, recording, and touring to his credit and he brought a new energy level to the band. Heading into 2009, the band is hard at work writing and recording new material for their forthcoming cd as well as booking new shows to keep performing for their loyal fans and friends. The new year has some exciting things in store and the guys are sounding better than ever. Take a listen and you'll see why this band has great things coming their way. Peace and Love
Hey its Sem. Thought I would see how you are. Our myspace is not broken anymore :) The last few days have been a nightmare. Just wanted to let you know if you didn't get my last message that we have a new single coming out next Spring, and if you haven't seen yet we have a new website. www.bensem.com If you become a member you will be one of the first to know the release date. The only reason I mention is that it takes me about 6 months to try and tell everyone on myspace lol. You up to much this weekend? Speak to you soon
Thanks for the add. The songs I write are a reflection of my life. The lyrics, like an unveiled biography. My inspiration comes from my children, mi familia, and the woman I loved (may she rest in peace). I give them and everyone who inspires me, my heart and friendship...Sign the guest book if you get a chance......Peace n Love, Miguel

I'm proud to give you "Heavy In The Beats Vol. 1 - A Different Drum", the first installment in my FREE mixtape series dedicated to drums and percussion. "Volume 1" focuses on the avant garde side of the instrument, and features pieces from Billy Martin (of Medeski Martin & Wood), myself, and others!
