The Gypsy Nomads are New York's premier NeoMedieval Rock Duo. Blending Gypsy, Celtic, Medieval and Rock styles, it features songwriter, artist and veteran of the punk scene Scott Helland on guitar, drums, programmed and live loops and French artist/dancer Samantha Stephenson on vocals, percussion and drums. The Gypsy Nomads' performance is a whirlwind of guitars, tambourines, toms and tape loops and ranges from dynamic guitar anthems, pounding drum jams and original french ballads with a gypsy flair. They mix the modern and medieval creating a visually evoking sonic landscape uniquely their own. They deliver their lively show with humor often playing in front of Scott's hand drawn backdrops reminiscent of Edward Gorey.
The Gypsy Nomads' new CD, At The Carnival Eclectique, released May 2008 features their eclectic mix all-drum instrumentals and gypsy celtic inspired songs both in English and French. To hear more samples visit: GypsySamantha
Also new in 2008, Eternal Summer, the all original French CD
