The Habit is a new, DFW based party/variety band. What makes this band different is that they actually DON’T suck! These are veteran, REAL musicians, and it shows.
On lead vocals is Lou Marini, III. Lou was born in Denton, Texas, and as the only child of Blue Lou Marini, the longtime saxophone player for the original Blues Brothers Band, he grew up literally submerged in all types of music. Having inherited his father’s lust for music, Lou is an accomplished drummer as well as vocalist. His distinct vocal sound comes from the soulful blues scene his father was so involved in. Lou has also guest appeared numerous times alongside his pop with the Blues. Brothers Band themselves. He’s the proud papa of 4 year old daughter Alaina Claire.
On lead guitar is Kurt Lauerman. Kurt is a veteran of the Dallas Blues circuit, having played with many bands in the area, most notoriously Colored Boyz, D Sound, Chuck Armstrong, Shades of Blue and Jimmy “Preacher” Ellis. Kurt has a degree in trumpet performance from SMU...adding a nice change of pace from the guitar-only oriented mainstream.
On bass, Bill Hammon. Bill has been playing bass for well over 20 years. He's played with several all original Dallas bands back at the peak Deep Ellum (The Lones, Lizard Ranch, Woodhouse) being billed with some of the bigger names like Sarah Hickman, Horton Heat, Johny Reno, Ten Hands, and Fever in the Funkhouse. He quit for a few years, and got a real job to support his 2 wonderful boys, Jason and Jeremy, but could not stay away from music. He had an opportunity to join Tooth N' Nail in 2000, and have been going every weekend since. Tooth N' Nail gave way to One Bad Habit, which lasted for 6 years. This group has now transformed into The Habit.
The Habit is compiled of seriously experienced musicians. Kurt and Bill, formerly of "One Bad Habit, have been playing together for the past 5 years; and Lou, having fronted such upper echelon bands as the Blues Brothers themselves, renders all of these guys serious professionals.

Glad to see you are getting some gigs on the Tarrant county side, sorry we missed the show, but we had the kiddos and no where for them to go. Looking forward to seeing y'all again let us know when the next show is going to be.
