DAVIDE BUFFOLI is a talented guitarist and a rock-songwriter coming from the province of Varese, in the North of Italy. His songs and his music world reveal a strong, sound “rock & roots’n’pop” vein taking inspiration from North American rock tradition made of own songs and vigorous ideals. These songs taste like true things, dust and wind, dreams and hopes, feelings and friendship, asphalt roads and skies in which one gets lost between sanctity and damnation – and also take you to the castle of doubt to unveil demons and profound unrest deep into the unease of torment or the exaltation due to strength of passion. His rock & drive’n’roll verse and music find little things down into life, bringing to light the will to tell the daily miracle and the wish to conquer one’s own El Dorado. Therefore, “his rock is true music, out of time,” going beyond the trends of the moment and always strongly relevant. It has a remarkable structure which gives robustness to the songs – a sound rock linked to its roots and looking ahead to the future. It might not shake the history of rock, but it is definitely not one of the numerous musical sub-products. Its strengths are a good mix of guitar riffs, eclectic music scenarios, great rock melodies and chords – Davide knows how to write good songs. This is not a small thing. In terms of inspiration or influence, we may want to find traces in Gin Blossoms, Black Crowes, Ryan Adams, John Mellencamp, Counting Crows, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Steve Earle, Jayhawks, Wallflowers, Gram Parsons, Tom Petty, Byrds, Rolling Stones, Allman Brothers and in a thousand new and old names. Davide’s guitar makes his star begin to shine – in very few years he gathered a remarkable experience and competence on the ground. Still very young, he began to tread the boards together with Chuck Hobo’s Brothers, a local group with which he held personal shows and also played as a support group with BUTCH HANCOCK, bluesman MAX JOHNS, STEVE YOUNG, LUIGI GRECHI and MASSIMO BUBOLA. He then joined the GROOVERS for the promotional tour of the “September Rain” album; later on, he was the solo guitar of the Varese rock-roots band APPLE PIRATES. He then chose to found his own band: DAVIDE BUFFOLI & The HABLADORS. In the meantime, he performed both alone and together with other pards, thus being on stage with such music models as ELLIOTT MURPHY, TOM RUSSEL, GREG TROOPER, SAY ZUZU, JONO MANSON, SLOBBERBONE, SARAH LEE GUTHRIE, TEDDY MORGAN, MOLLYS, MIKE BLAKELY, SARAH PIERCE, GARY HALL, BOB CHILDERS, RUTH GERSON, SCOTT LAURENT, JASON REED, JERRY JOSEPH, PATRICE PIKE, GINGER LEIGH, GANG, DAVIDE VAN DES FROOS, MEL PREVITE e ROBBY PELLATI (Rocking Chairs - Ligabue), PAOLO BONFANTI, TREVES BLUES BAND and many others… In June 2001, DAVIDE BUFFOLI & The HABLADORS participated in the “Centesimi di Rock” contest held by c.g.i.l. of Varese, ranking first among thirteen selected bands. Davide also participated in the recording of “Rosso Fiaba” cd of Jazz-New Age pianist Carlo Maria Arosio, in the pre-production of CHICKEN MAMBO’s “Nuther World” and in the tribute to John Mellencamp “To Jack and Diane” made by the Italian fan club and distributed only via the web, interpreting an exclusive personal version of “Human Wheels” besides taking part into different studio recordings for other musicians. End of summer 2002: “SCREAMIN’ LIKE A CHILD” came out, his cracking debut album. This is a good record, substantial and open-minded, which received consistent approval and positive reviews in the national press and on specialized web sites. It was included in the programs of several radios in Italy and Switzerland, where Davide was also invited to be interviewed. The readers’ poll on the music magazine “Buscadero” assigned two nominations as Best Italian Cd of the Year to “Screamin’ Like A Child” (issue no. 239, October 2003) and described Davide as one of the best Italian musicians. Davide Buffoli, together with the HABLADORS, brings around a bold rock, playing with his rock’n’dreams, blues-like moods, ballads, folkie shadows and a “rock & roots’n’pop” made of hot and passionate rock’n’roll. It’s a vigorous, convincing rock, made of own songs and of some selected covers of great quality, interpreted with taste and a personal touch. Both as a leader and as a talented side-man, his precise and soft touch enables him to add colour to each song with a few masterly notes, and led him, his songs and his guitar on stage at different places, among which “Teatro Nuovo” in Gallarate, “Caffè Teatro” in Verghera, “All’Una e 35 Circa” in Cantù, “La Birraria” in Mendrisio (Switzerland), the “Garage Music” in Bellinzona (Switzerland); the “Thunder Road” in Pavia, the “Scimmie” in Milan, the “Nidaba Theatre” in Milan, “The Wall” in Sesto Calende, the “Ponderosa Relax” in Lonate Ceppino, the “Crazy Horse” in Casorate Sempione, the “Joe’s Café” in Somma Lombardo, the “Pelican” in Gallarate, the "Heineken Jammin' Club" in Castellanza and many more. He played in Milan for Emergency in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2004, besides performing at concerts and festivals in Switzerland, always gaining great success and receiving well-deserved praise.
