In 2005 Sal Calanni and Matt Morales decided to create a punk-rock band made up entirely of comedians. The gimmick would be that the band woudn't be funny. Not in a, "hey your jokes suck" not funny - an actual, serious group. So with the addition of Max Curry on the drums and Kevin Camia on bass the newly formed "Hacks" decided to play one show, record some tunes in some guy's garage, and then call it quits before things get out of hand.
Then, after about two dozen shows, a line-up change (hello Pete Franco on bass), a 9-song EP, a music video and three long years later The Hacks have finally broken up. We'd like to thank everybody who played with us along the way and, of course, those of you who came out to the shows and rocked out to our little group. If you never got a chance to pick up our CD, just send us an email and we'll be happy to send you one for $10, shipping included.
Sal Calanni, Max Curry and Matt Morales all perform stand-up comedy regularly around the bay area and beyond. Check them out on their respective myspaces.
Pete Franco is a happily re-married father of two who currently resides in the Peninsula. He has played with numerous acts in the past twenty years and shows no signs of slowing down, although his age no longer permits him to eat red meat.

Kevin Camia quit The Hacks in 2006 to focus more on stand-up comedy. We all laughed at him. Then he made it onto Comedy Central's "Live At Gotham". Son of a bitch.
