The Hail Marys started in the fall of 2002 as a five piece with Katie Hennessey, Ryan Gates, Pat Hederman, Pat Hercules, and Chris McAvin. After a year of playing around the St. Louis area, Chris left the band to work on new projects.
In March of 2004, we enlisted the help of Jason, or "sticks" to play drums. During the next year, we had a string of several successful shows with national bands such as Kittie, Motion City Soundtrack, Texas Terri, The Bronx, and The Casualties, among others.
In the fall of 2004, Hercules left the band so he could spend more time with his family. Since then, the band has carried on as a four piece, with special guest guitarists playing shows with us here and there.
2005 has been a quiet year for the band. In February we decided to take some time off to regroup, as the events of the previous year left us worn down and burnt out. During this downtime, Jason made the decision to move to Minneapolis, Minnesota to start his career as a Zamboni driver. As a result, close friend Captain Dave has joined the band on drums.
