the hair cells (no caps) is the latest incarnation of the collaboration between songwriters Alex Niemiec and Zach Sharrow.
We have been writing and performing together for over 4 years now. Like everyone else in the world, we started out naive and ambitious. Well, we’re still pretty naive and ambitious, but now we think we’re much better songwriters than we used to be. We’re total DIYers, more out of necessity than choice--everything you hear was written, recorded, and mixed in our bedrooms.
Although we’re separated by a good deal of physical distance most of the time, we’re trying to get out to play as much as possible, so keep your eyes on this page and the official site for updates on when you can hear us.
greetings and salutations once again. im the guy that plays banjo that talked with you months ago..would you guys want to be a bill with me? let me know soon.
now...who finishes school?... just kidding ;) but I understand! My dad and I have been putting more songs together. Can't wait for you to hear them. Hope to hear from you soon.
It has been pretty good. We had quite a crowd a couple of weeks ago because the Barn Doors returned and brought about 15 members of their family. Last week we had 2 new people: a young singer/songwriter female and a rocker (pretty good guitar soloist). John and Jack had some kind of blow up last week (don't know the details), but that may be the last of Jack. I have a new recording of "Where the Moon Meets the Sun", but I can't get it to upload to MySpace - keep getting a time out error.
Also last week was interesting because we had a hellatious (sp?) storm and found out the roof leaks at Papa Joes (including right over Dave's sound board).
I made you a picture, but I don't know how to show it to you in the comment box. I found a picture of hair cells (not the kind on your head, the kind in your inner ear) and it looked pretty cool. And I thought it was fitting, since apparently without the hair cells in your inner ear you can't hear anything. So I put your band's name on the picture. It's awesome (take my word for it).
Attendance has been good but we still miss you! Remember, we are going to do a show together when you get back. Are you checking out the Englishmanjohn youtube page? I've actually got decent stuff on there. Later, Dave
Hey Alex! Thans fer invitin' me aboard yer ship -- Ar-r-rrr ;-> You sounded great last night at open mic -- love your tunes! Come on back and play more! PJ
