X-Fresh Blog - Aku dari dulu lagi memang suka band-band dari Ipoh. Mungkin sebab muzik diorang ni banyak dipengaruhi oleh band-band personal favourite aku macam Dinosaur Jr, Pavement dan Modest Mouse. Salah satu band Ipoh generasi baru, baru tak baru la jugak, yang aku agak impress adalah The Hans. Aku first time tengok diorang main kat Couple nye Listening To The Pop EP launch kat Paul’s Place (masa tu kat Damansara Uptown lagi), masa tu, diorang ni stood out sebab muzik diorang agak berbeza dengan bunyi yang sinonim ngan scene Ipoh masa tu, bunyi diorang ada berbau seperti Suede sikit.Tu dulu, la ni The Hans dah lebih kurang establish bunyi diorang sendiri, seperti mana yang dapat di dengar dalam album diorang.Untuk reference, The Hans punyi muzik ni bolehlah dikategorikan sebagai indie pop yang ada unsur-unsur twee-pop dan band-band pelopor Britpop di awal tahun 90an dulu. Dan ini jelas kedengaran dalam lagu-lagu macam It’s Not The First Time, The Friend Song dan You.Secara keseluruhan, album ni, pada aku la, memang catchy for an indie rock album. Tapi itu aku, realitinya pulak, muzik macam ni selalunya hanya boleh di fahami oleh bak kata orangputih, trained ears. Bagi yang kurang paham tu, diorang mesti cakap, “Eh, asal diorang nyanyi agak sedikit sumbang dan apsal muziknya macam bersepah je?” which kalau tanya aku, that’s the beauty of it.Lagi satu, mungkin diorang boleh gak consider untuk cuba tulis lirik diorang dalam bahasa Malaysia. Lagu instrumental Holiday In The Sun tu macam best je kalau dinyanyikan dalam bahasa Malaysia. Mana tau, lepas Harmacy, kita akan dengar satu lagi band dari Ipoh yang boleh conquer radio? Potensinye memang ada, dan pada aku tak salah kalau kita cuba dan tengok hasilnye. Sekurang-kurang nya dah cuba.. - Adly Ramly Syairi
