The Los Angeles based Hard Miles Band “HMB” performs original music that is a fusion of flush, crunchy vintage electric guitar rhythms, harmony-layered vocals & good ‘ol R&B. The quintet’s visually entertaining performances can be seen at various clubs in Southern California, such as Hollywood’s trendy Viper Room, BB King’s and The Canyon Club. They’ve also been known to lay down a few bars at “biker friendly” events such as The Love Ride, various fairs, festivals and private events as well.
Tim Palmatier – HMB front man and lead guitarist is a heart-breakin’ Dog Town original and pure entertainer, but at 6-foot-6, the heightened intensity he projects is more than a consequence of his tree-like frame. Tim’s stirring performances are partly the result of his more than thirty years as a vocalist and songwriter; the rest is his own brand of mojo.
Cheryl Cynar – Nothing can diminish the power of this blonde's role in the band- or the gutsiness of her voice. As a background vocalist, Cheryl adds delicate, flavorful harmonies to the songs. But what sets this classically trained musician (and artful flute player) apart, is her ability to belt out the blues without pity. Did we mention she is also a fourth-degree black belt?
Mark Spier – One sure thing you can say about Mark is he has played everything and does it with a smile on his face (or mask, as the mood may suite!). With years of honing his chops on rock, pop, and the blues, this Florida native brings a groove to the music that is all his own. If you're lucky, you may even see a little "pony-tail-spinnin!"
Wes McNaghten – Wes is simply one of the funkiest bass players this side of the Atlantic. To watch him play is to understand his nickname, “The Machine.” Rendering full, melodic fingerpickn,’ he plays the way some meditate: in a consuming, trance-like state. Only his blazin’ fingers lend proof of life. (It’s no wonder he’s constantly being lured by unknown forces.)
Paul Burger - This native Angeleno, way back at the tender age of 16, heard the sirens beckoning him, luring him with the ability to throw down any song, in any style-the likes of Buffalo or Butterfield. Perfect pitch is pure Paul, who, as harp player for the band, always displays an affinity for modulation, and with an instrument always in tune. (He says it’s skill, but we know it’s really those damned sirens.)
