Hi, I'm Jamie, and I write www.HardRockChick.com.

This site started as a result of my live music addiction. There is no place that makes me happier than going out to see a really good band- it helps me live in the present. And as you can see from my tally, I do it a lot. Now when someone asks, "how was the show?", I direct them here. Pretty much every second outside of my paying job is spent thinking about music, so this is an outlet that makes me feel productive about my obsessions. People ask about the name- it's just a nickname that stuck (and had a url available). Yes, you'll see reviews beyond rock and metal here- those are my core favorite genres, but a little diversity helps me keep perspective. Sometimes punk, hip hop, indie rock, and dance music pop up. I do not make any money off of this site. It is purely a labor of love. I would say that 9 times out of 10, I buy tickets to see bands just like you do. I like to write from a fan's perspective, even when that requires waiting outside in the cold for hours. Plus, industry people are really flaky with guestlisting music bloggers, and I don't want to miss out on a show due to empty promises. For my real job I'm a researcher in the videogames industry. And, no, I'm not a groupie. I'm a band-aid ;p
