Based in Kanata, Ontario, Canada, The Hat Tones are a genre-spanning rock/blues band comprised of four of the premier musicians in the Ottawa area. In their two-plus years together, the group has forged an impressive reputation for superior musicianship, soaring vocal harmonies and undeniably catchy and eclectic original songs. The band is also well known throughout Ottawa for playing a crowd-pleasing selection of classic rock covers, from Neil Young to the Rolling Stones to Hendrix.
In June 2007, The Hat Tones released “Hat’s Off”, their debut five-song EP. The CD highlights the band’s virtuoso playing and song-writing, featuring an eclectic mix of blues and rock with a modern spin.
The band entered the Canada Day in Kanata battle of the bands in 2007, finishing as the top group in the Open category. As a result, they headlined a memorable show at Walter Baker Park.
The members of The Hat Tones have a long history of playing in some of the most notable bands in Ottawa and Montreal over the last twenty years.
