The Haunt House

Back in the 1970’s horror was becoming very popular. People were lining up at the drive-in to see death and gore. Disney’s imagineers even created the Haunted Mansion in 1969. Carnivals were also getting into the industry by creating dark rides, bringing horror right to your town. Among the many dark rides one stood out. Looking like an old mansion it was bigger than most. The ride had its name in red right over the door. The Haunt House! The ride was very popular in every town that it visited. Patrons were amazed by the realness of the scenes and props of the ride. One newspaper article said, “that it was the next best thing to Hollywood effects.” Things were going well for The Haunt House until the mid 1970’s. Folks started to notice that people were missing during the time that the carnival rolled through town. Upon further investigation into the missing person reports the next town was warned about the carnival. The police of the small Texas town were on alert, keeping their eyes out for anything suspicious. When the carnival arrived everything went smoothly until the last day they were open. A concerned mother called the police saying that her daughter had not come home from the carnival. The police stormed the carnival as it was closing. They began checking every ride and the carnie’s quarters. They came to the end of the carnival where The Haunt House stood. The doors were locked and the owner was nowhere to be found. They broke in and found the owner in the back carving away at the missing daughter. Before the owner could move he was shot and killed. During the investigation of the murder the police found something much worse in the ride. They found 26 more bodies used as props in various scenes. 1000’s of patrons had ridden through the dark corridors not realizing that they were looking at horror in the flesh. Taking care of things, the authorities stripped the ride bare and stuck it deep within a field so no one would remember its gruesome past. Until now! A man found the ride. He is not an ordinary man. You know him. He has scared 1000’s of you. Haunted your dreams at night. Whisper it with me. Spoils the Clown! He happened upon it while on the run from town folk for biting off a kid’s finger. Leaving it there, Spoils came back to claim the ride. He left a lot of the corridors the way they were but put his own twist on things. Now instead of a ride you will have to walk through the depths of the dark corridors not knowing what will be behind each turn. Maybe you might see the deceased owner trying to claim his next victim or Spoils and his group of misfits coming for you in every direction. We do not know which is worse. Now for the first time in 30 years. Two big monstrosities coming together for one monstrous event.
