Charles and Jenna Haymarket keep changing their names from time to time to keep from being too famous. You know them and love them already, and if you don't, come on. Why wait? Come enjoy their debut album HAYMARKET ORPHANS one of the coolest indie music releases ever. And more to come.
Positive social change happens slowly. It's not just an ideal of the 1960's. In the1880's working people died for the 8 hour day. Five anarchists were hanged by a murderous legal system that uses the very same tactics and hate speech, but substitutes "Muslim" or "Terrorist" for "Anarchist".
One of the Haymarket Martyrs, Albert Parsons, had two children; Al Junior was 8 and Lulu was 6 when they were forced to see their father hanged. Where do you go with such anger? What to say or do in a world that's been union bashed, civil and human rights denied, red baited, world warred, nuclear bomb scared, Cointelpro'd, Watergated, Vietnamed, wiretapped, consumer distracted, downsized, outsourced, Sept 11th lied to, Iraq War lied to, Gitmo'd and Abu Ghraibed, spied on, stalked, and facing endless debt, spiritual decline, and a trashed Earth?
Charles and Jenna Haymarket wander the Earth as orphans singing songs of protest. They keep changing their names to keep from getting famous. This isn't our parents’ era, and this isn't their folk music. Hear us speak. Speak out yourself! We all live slighted lives as heirs to an unfinished legacy that demands peace and justice. We are all Haymarket Orphans.

Hi Guys! How have you been? Sorry I haven't been in touch in awhile, spring gets mighty busy around here! I'm also sorry I never got back in touch with you about your party back in April.... the 12th was actually my birthday, and Sharon Freeman's, also......crazy busy weekend!!! I hope to get folks together here soon, bonfire and stage jam...I'll keep you posted! Have a fabulous day!! Peace, Mia
Hey there guys! Thanks for the tip...I already put the interview on my myspace page. So, you mentioned that you signed up with "Your Stage"....did you mean OurStage. com ? Just checking, 'cause there's a lot of different stuff out there that all sounds the same. I have six songs entered at OurStage, some of which are doing pretty well. Right now I am entered in the Folk, Country, Singer/Songwriter, and Christian/Spiritual catagories. My song in Singer/songwriter is at about 170, out of something like 1200 entries...not bad! and one of my folk tunes is at about 60 or something, with about 300 or so entries, I think. Let me know when you get all entered and stuff, so I can check it out! ( Or if you are, in fact, on another site altogether!) There's one similar site online that is all in Greece !!! Have a beautiful day, Peace, Mia
Hay, folks! Good morning! HAPPY SPRING!!!! Yeah!!! just stopping by to wish you a wonderful day, and invite you to check out my interview with New Sound Magazine...I posted on my blog thingy. It was fun! I'm trying to add a link straight from the blog to the mag., but can't seem to figure that out yet! If you are interested in checking out the mag, you can click on their link on my Top Friends section...(you guys are in there too!) Have a wonderful day! Peace and blessings, Mia
Hi Guys! Nice to hear from you!!! Your get-together sounds fun, for sure. We are dealing with some crazy work schedules lately, and rarely seem to know what's coming next!? We lost our well-pump this week, so that's keeping us busy, too! Sure wouldn't want life to get boring, Eh?!! Try OurStage.com for that other site...let me know if you find it...I'll probably be here shoveling snow or hauling water, so keep in touch... Also, sending comments rather than messages puts your "face" out there more, and could possibly garner more publicity for you! Talk to you later... Peace and blessings, Mia Ukasick
