This exciting new Rockabilly group made its debut as the opening act for the 2nd Annual "Johnny Cash Birthday Bash" at the prestigious Belly-Up Tavern in Solana Beach, California.

Playing a mix of classic Rockabilly songs and original compositions by the band members, the Hayriders were an instant hit!

Johnny G. d'Artenay

-sings lead & backing vocals, acoustic guitar - Is now the leader of the Cash Kings and Big Rig Deluxe; he's a founding member of Hot Rod Lincoln; as well as a sideman with Chuck Berry, Billy Zoom, Jump Jones, Billy Watson and and many others. He is one of the finest interpreters of the Johnny Cash vocal style you'll ever hear. He also sings numbers made famous by Elvis, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Billy Lee Riley and has written some outstanding originals in that same classic style.

Sue Palmer

- "Pumpin' PIANO" -San Diego's Queen of Boogie Woogie. Sue leads the "Motel Swing Orchestra" and performs as a soloist and in small groups on the West Coast. Sue's irresistable beat and her gift for improvising are a hallmark of the Hayriders' sound. In addition to her mastery of Boogie Woogie, blues and jazz styles, Sue has also composed some excellent originals.

Gino Meregillano

- "Expert Rockabilly guitarist extraordinaire!". He works with the Guana Batz, Mo' Wasabi, and several more groups in Southern California. Any band lucky enough to have this six-string fireball in the lineup is guaranteed to rock!!! His full-throttle, jet-propelled guitar work is a constant inspiration to the Hayriders!

Katie Cavera

-sings lead & backing vocals, upright DOGHOUSE slap bass-International jazz star. She is a world-class banjoist, guitarist and bassist. (In the summer of 2007 she returns to the Opera Comique in Paris, to play banjo in the French-produced musical "Looking For Josephine"). With the Hayriders, Katie plays a driving Rockabilly bass style and sings terrific vocals. She is also the bassist/vocalist with the Cash Kings.

Junior Smith

-Band Leader, Drummer -Internationally known Jazz drummer; recent convert to Rockabilly and '50s-era Rock 'n' Roll. He works with the Cash Kings, Big Rig Deluxe, the Carl Sonny Leyland Trio and continues to drum for a wide variety of jazz groups. Junior is greatly influenced by the classic Rockabilly drumming of J.M. Van Eaton, W.S. "Fluke" Holland, D.J. Fontana and others.
