Former Virginia Tech student athlete, Tommy Edwards, responded to the tragic shootings on the VT campus on 4/16/07 by creating the campaign which led to the formation of The Heart of Virginia Foundation. We hope to change the way we, as Americans, deal with the escalation of violence and the deterioration of mental well-being in our country and to show the world that senseless tragedies will not pass quietly as one in a string of violent acts, but call for change.
The mission of THE HEART OF VIRGINIA FOUNDATION is to raise awareness of the desperate need for expanded and accessible mental health and well being programs in the state of Virginia and to destigmatize mental illness through education and community outreach.
Our Center for Integrated Arts consists of a combination of traditional fine and performing arts, as well as, healing and meditative art.
The mission of the Center for Integrated Arts is to advance public awareness and increase opportunities for our community to experience the wellness and healing benefits of expressive arts and therapies.
Neighborcore combats community deterioration by promoting community service project participation by individuals with mental health conditions in an effort to reach out to neighbors in a time of need and to enhance self-worth by contributing to our communities. Direct community outreach will include, but not be limited to the victims, families and communities of violence and trauma; community revitalization projects; vocational mentoring programs; and Campuscore.Campuscore, a division of Neigbhorcore, will promote public service projects as an outreach to high school and college campuses geared to inspire you leaders to emerge beyond complacency and become self-empowered active members of their community. Campuscore specifically provides mental health awareness and education to students. We believe with better education and acceptance of mental illness, students will more likely seek/suggest treatment when needed.

Here's wishing you Holiday Greetings and the Happiest of New Years. May all of your dreams come true. I took this photo a few years ago on a cold winter day in the old part of Bratislava, Slovakia, about an hour's train ride from Vienna, and wanted to share it with you.
With much love,
Joel

Thank you for joining our circle of friends. Welcome. - We would like to invite you to visit our website and read about the variety of different free, healthy and life saving solutions, available right now, that we can all take advantage of, to save our one and only home Planet Earth, and to ensure a sustainable green future for all of us, the humankind.
We must keep in mind that, united we stand and prosper, but divided, we have been falling for many, many years. Let us learn how to unite and work together, let us learn how to transform the information offered on our website, into positive and constructive action, in order to solve humanity’s major ecological problems, One Problem, at a time. - Ranking number 1, on top of our list of major manmade environmental problems, obviously is the Global Warming.
Keep in mind that silence solves nothing, it never has, and it never will. Our silence will encourage more environmental devastation, violence and corruption at all levels, all over the world. Our silence will help to defeat and silent the peaceful ethical voices of reason and common sense. - It is our civic duty and moral obligation, to get involved and never be silent, to solve our many problems, by simply casting the light of truth and exposing the source of the problem, followed by enlightening educational measures to solve the problem through a peaceful conflict resolution.
There are only 2 ways of spreading the light of truth and hope, either to be the source of light, truth and hope, The Projector, or be The Mirror, that spreads and reflects the light of truth and hope to others, which one are you? - Next time you see the angelic smile of sweet, innocent little angels, our children, running around, growing up in this world, stop and think for just 1 minute, think about what kind of a polluted Home, we are raising them in, and the Home we are leaving behind for them.
