One of Canada's longest running Ska-Core/Ska-Punk/Punk-Ska (whatever ya feel like labeling it) bands, we've been tearing apart stages since 1998. Mixing hard thrashy Punk rock; an occasional ska influence; a blood, sweat and beer fueled, high-energy live show; and a strong DIY/independent method to our madness.
We've released 4 albums, 3 of them ourselves, and the most recent "Smile... Tomorrow Will be Worse" through Niagara Falls' Pink Skull Records, which is now available across Canada through Sonic Unyon Distro.
We have toured to the east coast of Canada 3 times and once from Quebec to BC. We've played close to (if not over) 400 shows ranging from small 20 person shows to huge sold out crowds, like our 300+ over capacity 5 year anniversary show. Some of the more well known bands we've shared the stage with over the years are Leftover Crack, Dwarves, Gadjits, Against All Authority, Slackers, BigWig, Casualites, The Forgotten, Planet Smashers, Dayglo Abortions, King Django, DOA, The Independents and The Forgotten Rebels to name a few.
We are a bunch of cynical, sarcastic bastards who do everything ourselves, from our merch printing, to recording. We have no misguided dreams of fame, fortune, or power... As long as there is a place to play, power for our equipment, and kids that wanna party... well be there.
Thanks for the add.............................................................................................................................................................................................BOOM!
haha man hopefully and thats fucking depressing... i loved going to your shows... actually the first show i went to was last punks against racism i actually got punched in the face for ill break your face... it was amazing
well boys its a sad day. the heatskores have actually broken up. ira called me this morning to tell me. he's always ontop of shit. i'd like to thank you guys for bein cool and helping us get started. we played a lot of shows together there near the beginning of our band which really helped us out. you guys were always cool and never treated us like new people. i remember bein underage and gettin drunk behind richmond hill church with eddy near the tour van. we had either lakeports or carlings. some cheap shit. eddy always drinks that shit. that was like our fourth show ever. and that first year we did punk aid and the turnout was terrible. you guys were totally cool about it. it was our first big show that we were puttin on and you guys were there to back us up....and score free shots at the end of the night with us. i think you are talanted, both individually and as a band and you stuck to your guns the whole time. the first local show i ever saw was you guys with jerkbank and constable brennan (i always tell you this) and it got me into the whole idea of being indie and being able toplay shows. i was like 12 or something. so i will stop rambling incoherantly now and just say that im gonna miss you guys and it was a privelage to have played with you and to be able to consider you guys our pals.
Not sure exactly what you guys have in store in the future? But I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all the great times we have had with you guys over the years.I think the highlights for me would be Eddy performing the service for Fox tard and I's Wedding.Pez in my Wedding party. And how can we forget playing the infamous Oshawa riot show on January 2007 and you guys travelling for hours in the snow storm of the year with no wipers or heat in your van..haha.I guess what makes me the most sad about all of this is how hard you guys rocked when ya played as a unit.I was always in awe of your energy and tight knit punch in the face set times. The best Heatskore gigs were always under 30 minutes. And those were always the craziest. At around the 30 minute mark a crowd loses energy and begins to succumb to injuries and exhaustion.Thats when the Heatskores were smart enough to call it a night.Drain every last drop out of them and kick em while they were down.Making any band to play after you cats shake their heads and wake the fuck up real quick.Anyways Alot of emotions were flying last night and remember nobody can ever take away what you accomplished. You worked hard.hit the road alot and played a ton of gigs that other bands wouldnt have. You always played for whoever was there to see you and you did it like no other.9 years is a long time in the crazy punk rock game so be proud, move forward and always remember anybody that knows anything about the toronto punk scene 20 years from now will undoubtably remember THE HEATSKORES as one of the few dominant forces of the late 90s and well into the 2000s.Im going to miss you as the band. But am proud to call you all friends.....John Tard
i can not believe you're breaking up!!!!! wtf! im so sad! i never even got a chance to see you guys! fuck that. aw well i guess if its what you gotta do its what you gotta do. you did make killer music tho.
