"The Heatwaves are an Italian punk, ska rock band with some catchy lyrics and bouncy rhythms. Made up of three Sicilian kids, The Heatwaves work an up tempo performance while mixing in some rock ballads into their arsenal. I would describe them as having Ramones like tendencies with a mix of European flavor. Their music is fun and they are quickly picking up a fan base away from home in places like England and the States. With performances at places like Circolo degli Artisti, Zoobar or Radio Cafè, the Heatwaves had an opportunity to spread their friendly sound to open ears.
"Cant Dose My Feelings" is a bouncy happy song with recurring lyrics throughout but remains quite enjoyable. "Your invitation can set on fire my obsession/your warm temptation may make me rise my "passion"", "Yeah do it do it! Betray your life and do it". It almost feels like if someone started a punk band and rocked out in the garage, only the band was talented and the songs were decently put together… did you get that?
"Sometimes I Can't Find My Car" is another energetic song with bouncing guitar rhythms and consistent pace. Similar structure to the previous song with some more repetitive lyrics… "Love you love you la da da da da". A song about drinking red wine and sometimes not finding your car, come on… you got to appreciate that. And fans of Ska/ Punk will appreciate these Italians.
I Love You I Hope You Don't Mind feels like a song about a passionate obsession. Once again, repetitive lyrics are reiterated here and show their love for this woman. "Yeah I would see my eyes with your eyes/and kiss my lips with your lips". Another catchy, poppy song.

A proposito di influenze, per evitare i soliti commenti ripetitivi e noiosi sulla loro musica, gli Heatwaves tengono a ribadire il semplice concetto che per loro essere una band "indie" non è solo ispirarsi al modaiolo brit pop dei video di MTV ma anche il rock americano indipendente che ad esempio può partire dai Sonic Youth, passare dai Pussy Galore, Slint, Fugazi, June of 44 e Royal Trux e infine portare alla cantina puzzolente di piscio di casa loro dove suonano.
Dopo una pausa di riflessione forzata in cui i componenti di questa bizzarra band romana sono stati chi detenuto al manicomio criminale, chi a meditare in Tibet con i bonzi e chi all'Isola dei Famosi, i nostri ritornano con un nuovo bassista e un ulteriore chitarrista tolto dai marciapiedi della Stazione Tiburtina e disposto a mettere a disposizione il suo genio folle in cambio di pochi cartoni di Tavernello. E ritornano con nuove oltraggiose canzoni come Sexology o The Thin White Line Between Joy and Desperation, e nuove rielaborazioni dei loro leggendari tormentoni come Dancing with the Pope o Sometimes I Can't Find My Car, che da anni ormai infuocano tutti gli strip club della capitale.
Non troppo superficiali e non troppo seriosi, gli Heatwaves sono solo un gruppo di amici con il piccolo desiderio di avere e dare delle forti, bollenti emozioni.
1.Can't Dose My Feelings ("The future of lovers must be based on doubts") . A song about obsession for somebody and betraying of your own morality.
2. Love Limbo ("It's clear and it's simple/but you like me in love limbo") . A song about the feeling of being always in a "love limbo" with somebody you like.
3. Thanks for the Add ("We hid in the bathroom/you undressed me and possessed me and now/I can still rember that sound") . A song about somebody who felt for a brief, quick period an intensive attraction and feeling with somebody but then can't be in love with him.
4. I Love You I Hope You Don't Mind ("Let's spend together a romantic night/I know it's going to be like a porn film") . A song about a love that become psychic and violent.
5. Dancing with the Pope ("Yeah I am what I am till the end of time/in the dancefloor of chaos looking for your eyes"). . A song about the lost of identity and drugs.

Grandi!! Non è vero che è roba da poco.. Io ad esempio ho suonato per anni prefiggendomi lo stesso obiettivo (finire su NME) e non ci sono mai riuscito. Percio' direi che siete già a metà dell'opera!! ;) poi quando ci vediamo ci raccontate com'è stata la trasferta londinese... ;)
penso che preferisca l' inglese ma del roc italiano non ne vedono spesso (le vostre musiche strappati)… in ogni caso mi piace molto vostro Spaghetti Indie! altrimenti vengo a Roma della dal 31 marzo al 6 aprile con il mio liceo un concerto previsto può??? bye
